1. Will sort pics later, but there is only one colour combo for a P bass......black/maple ;-)
2. Resurrected thread. I've upgraded the pups to Thumpers but still can't get to love the Precision sound, guess I'm just a jazz man at heart and I'd like a nice less expensive one compared to my AVRI to use at rough pubs/jam nights.
3. Chris that's a fantastically good price mate. If I thought I could sell my near mint Ray fretless quickly I'd have this off you like a shot mate. All the best.
4. [sub]Loving the look of the Takamine.......just wish I had room for it![/sub]
5. Oh Richard.......a deal with my slightly less expensive Jazz? I'll even put some dings on it if you like to make you worry less about gigging it. Looks for shaking head icon........
6. Sorry guys, unfortunately the Sterling is no longer available so this bass is now withdrawn.
7. Thanks George, Mr L. At least while it's sat here I still have the pleasure of playing it :-)
8. Alternatively don't put it on.....all the chrome bits and other gubbins are in their original plastic bag with my AVRI. Simples.
9. Superb basses.......the shape isn't to everyones taste but it's the only bass that's withstood GAS attacks in my line up in the last 3 years. If I get my way the wife will never make me part with this one ;-). Good luck with the sale.
10. Thanks Luke, it is a special Jazz, trouble is the longer this sale 'procrastinates' the more difficult it'll be to let it go.
11.
MB1. Hello Wayne Martthebass was looking for one of these!
I know.....the other half only went and ordered me one from Musicstreet without me knowing. Late XMas present.
12. 2 x 45mins is fairly standard for many clubs and pubs around my way. Occasionally we get asked for 2 x 30 mins plus a 45min last spot. Agree with above 2 x 12 or 1 x 15 either singly or together will accommodate most needs (and spaces). If I think I'm going to get an extra long set I use the Status instead of the Fenders to save my shoulder!
13. Amazed this black beauty hasn't gone yet Mart. I might get lucky yet ;-).
14.
Very funny. I did try it out. And, although it still works, I doubt I'd buy another Status. Things have not gone well with that bass, and I have neither the time, fuel money, inclination or funds to undo them. That, and it's missing a string. Though I doubt it'd do well as a fiver, seeing as the 4 seems to lack bottom end clout. Most expensive bass I buy? On paper the best. In reality, sitting in a cupboard. Unloved and unsaleable/untradable. Even I f*** up sometimes.
Shame that. I'd agree it doesn't have 'personality' in the way a Ray, P or J has but I like it because it's a blank canvass can I can mod using the knobs on the amp to suit the gig - any gig. Untradeable? I'll swap you my Bitsa P for it and my favorite dog? ;-)
15. Sorry, forgot to mention at the start..uk sale only.
16. There's far too any nice basses up for bargain money at the minute that nobody knows where to spend their pressie money methinks. I'll give this a bump in the off chance that someone out there wants a superb example of what Fender Corona can make when they put their minds to it.
17. Cheers Luke, Not sure on the body wood on this, as you say it's supposed to be alder but I could swear it's ash as I can see some of the grain through the thin poly finish. Not that it matters in the slightest I guess. It is the growliest Jazz I've played but I put that down more to the pickup spacing than anything else.
18. Martin (MB1) has a very nice Ebony Sterling up for sale at the moment and I've always been a sucker for limited edition MMs. For as long as this bass is available I have up for sale at a non negotiable price of £1100 this particularly fine example of a special run US made Jazz 75 RI. If you check on BC you will find reference to this near legendary limited run of Jazz basses from 2002 and 2003; around 200 each in Candy Apple Red, Sonic Blue, Olympic White and Lake Placid Blue were made. All featured 70's pickup spacing, vintage pups, matching headstocks and bound and block rosewood board necks. As with AVRIs they came in a G&G case with all the appropriate candy. My particular bass is in excellent condition with only the merest hint of player wear (no dings, chips). All the case candy with the exception of the original lead is present and in the case of the covers has never been fitted. The bass is on the side of light-medium weight at about 9lb. The quality is on the side of Custom Shop, my particular example has a super tight neck pocket and a very nice flame to the neck. This may only be available for a limited time so if you are intersted please pm me, no point in waiting for the price to drop because that ain't going to happen. Cheers, MTB
19. Quietest year in a while for me... Out. MarkBass 151HR In. Barefaced Compact
20. If this doesn't go before XMas Martin I'll put my Fender Jazz FSR up for sale and try and sort a deal.
21. Wish this would hurry up and go, GAS may get the better of me and XMas is a crap time to sell Fenders
22. It's the one bass that I dont seem to tire of Martin. Must get myself another status at some point.
