    I occasionally detune to eb - seems to be a necessity if the band's playing Lizzy. But I usually do it with my Status - seems to be immune to the process. If I were to be doing it all the time I'd probably tune one bass to eb and leave it that way.

    Thanks for the offer, but as I've found to my cost (on no less than 5 separate occasions) I don't get on with 5s. The only 5er that could possibly tempt me to have another go would be a Streamline but I don't have £1700 going spare....

I think that MM's response is acceptable but it's just that some manufacturers do go a lot further to look after their customers even if they are 2nd owners. For example I had great support from Overwater on a used bass a few years back, it's things like this that make this MMs response in this case look wanting.

    Oh, forgot to add, I'm prepared to put in some cash for the right bass.......but not looking for a MIA just a decent backup.

    Resurrected thread. I've upgraded the pups to Thumpers but still can't get to love the Precision sound, guess I'm just a jazz man at heart and I'd like a nice less expensive one compared to my AVRI to use at rough pubs/jam nights.

    Superb basses.......the shape isn't to everyones taste but it's the only bass that's withstood GAS attacks in my line up in the last 3 years. If I get my way the wife will never make me part with this one ;-). Good luck with the sale.

    Thanks Luke, it is a special Jazz, trouble is the longer this sale 'procrastinates' the more difficult it'll be to let it go.
