1. Awwww, Rich, you're killing me,
2. The pickups aren't as bad as you'd think on the Affinity, but you're right a nice Wizard Thumper would do well. I put some Wilkinson tuners on my replacement neck, about £15 new as I remember. Easily as good as the ones on MIM Fenders.
3.
Aha! You didn't say "No" though, did you? There's no stopping me now I have this photo-bucket business sorted out! I can see why people have problems with it, but it's quite easy once you've done it a few times. I had the same problem with making ringtones for my iPhone, but I do it without thinking about now, even after the crafty gits at Apple interfered.
No I didn't say no....I've tried a few times to acquire a great quality Stealth 2 but so far not managed it. I just find the 'monooque' Status basses so easy to play and they never need adjusting once set up. Still not sorted how to post pics on new BC - still its stopped me trading and selling too much!
4.
You could sell me Honky?
That one wouldn't be as cheap as the 30th Warren lol! Loved the photos by the way.
5. This is not good for my Status GAS. Basses come and go but my Streamline is a constant. Now what can I sell to buy a Stealth 2?
6. Dunno, but the Affinity is standard Fender fit....any licensed neck should do. The Mighty Mite in mine was very slightly thinner and shallower but no problem in fitting.
7.
+1. Mine is exactly the same as yours, you can't beat the black/black/maple combination. I'm not ashamed of the fake Fender logo though, some of us don't have money these days to throw around on £500+ basses. besides it finishes the look off, and I would never try to pass it off as the real thing if I sold it.
Ditto I'm not a Fender snob.....my first decent bass was a Squier (albeit a JV) and even though the body has some dinks I dont think it would fool anybody lol. I use mine against my CAR US Jazz 75RI - there aint £1000+ difference between em.
8. Nearly finished my Affinity upgrade. Black white black pg courtesy of Bass Doc.....makes a massive difference to the look. Mighty Mite Maple board neck with 70s logo (I know, I know) with 70s Wilkinson Tuners. Looking quite Roger Waters now but still thinking about a period neck plate and bridge cover. The Squier pups will probably have to go at some point but where do you stop...... Definitely punch above their weight these Affinitys Maarten.
9. Stunning bass Geert, That's the second 1976 Jazz thru this forum in as many weeks. I'll just have to content myself with a 2002 special run 'copy' for the time being. Bump.
10. Oh this is cruel..........no trades "weep"............a very special Jazz?
11. Myself and Tom (TG) above have been in contact with both Sean and Maurice (73Jazz) and we're all hoping that a speedy and sensible resolution can be found to this problem. None of us know the personal circumstances that have led to this situation and to help resolve the problem both myself and Tom will act without prejudice and in a friendly manner. The Mods will be informed of progress and any further action required will be agreed with them. Mart
12. I've had this problem on and off for the last few years. What I've found works for me: 1. A shallow profile at the nut 2. P bass not J bass 3. Not neck heavy (so I don't have to support the neck) I guess none of this bodes well for the a thumb bass (I had one for a year, loved the sound but my wrist hated it).
13. As it says above, straight as a die and plays very nicely. Swapped out only because this is a rosewood board and in my quest to make a Roger Waters 'copy' I've replaced it with a Mighty Mite maple boarded equivalent. Looking for £30 plus P&P (which should be about £4).
14. Ditto, Also still can't send a message directly as the boxes are off the left hand side of the screen.....have to go in through 'compose new'.
15. Just picked up a mighty mite Fender licensed maple with maple board from bluegrass guitar parts for just under a ton. Came with 70 s decal already attached and it was in the vintage tint finish. I believe this guy has stock or can source easily - came very well packed and with good comms. Email addy [email protected]
16. This one and the 1976 'Marcus Miller a like' also up for sale are giving me good reason to stay away from this site at the minute. I can't afford these and a divorce....
17. I've gained an appreciation for these since acquiring my 2002 FSR version.........I'd love this!
18. Yup I've had 4 pgs from S&T......all black :-)
19. I keep coming back to this, I wish it would hurry up and trade off
20. Very very nice, alas my Jazz is red and my Status would have to prised from my cold, dead hands, but have a bump anyway.
21. Oh Nick, don't do this to me.....my 2EQ Ray has no frets and my Jazz has but 4 strings pah.
22.
Here is my latest (and probably last) project. Squier body, Mighty Mite scratch plate & neck, Badass II, Wilkinson pups & tuners. Bog standard Squier pots & wiring (CTS pots and better wiring will follow later)
Nice one P. I'm in the process of converting by black Squier P to a Roger Waters. If you decide to part out the BA2 let me know.
