1.
Bad luck Mart. Nothing is selling at the moment. My MIA Jazz had very very little interest and other basses on here are just not selling. I would say it is worse now that a few years ago when we had an official recession.
Cheers L, agreed, didn't notice any slow down in trade/selling in 08. I'm thinking of reaaaaaally tricking out my Sue Ryder because I need a simple P or J for the new Jam tribute band I've found myself in. I'd use the Status but it doesn't really look the part. Good look with the J, if you ever fancy a trade with something else that won't sell let me know lol
2.
Personally, I would enjoy it and keep it. Nothing, IMO, is like a good Ray. My current H 3EQ is the best i've owned when it comes to that configuration. It's probably a normal weight, but the neck figuring and the feel/tone are just perfect.
Think that's where I am mate, too good to give away and this example has really been looked after by me, Jim and Tombboy. One thing I guess though, as the value of all MMs seems depressed at the mo maybe I should be less anxious about gigging it.
3.
And a 3rd on fleabay right now, This one has always drawn me in though for some reason? If I had not gone all 5 stringered it would already be mine Mart as you know.
The one on the bay is Clarkys Pete, but know what u mean u don't normally see more that one up for sale at once. I think this is destined to stay with me mate, I'll have to save for the P/J.
4. Can't believe how cheap high quality MMs have got on here so mine's withdrawn.......tink I'll chop it in at Electro for a Squier!!!
5. Gotta sell at that.....I'd buy it myself and flip it!
6. partysounds.co.uk generally pretty good.
7. Thanks Chris....must have taken EBMM some time to match the trans crimson colours on the neck and body considering the maple/mahogany woods employed. Well the ship has sailed on the roadworn I was looking to acquire so no longer any real hurry to part with this. If someone wants to offer me £1100 fine, or if someone wants to offer me a like value trade I'm up for offers
8. And replied
9. 6166 bump - almost the number of the beast if you ignore the '1' If I can tie a deal together with the nice RW Jazz on here I might accept a sneaky offer....
10.
BUMP! I'm now thinking I need the cash more than a trade... only 2 weeks to go until my honeymoon! ...but if you have got a nice Jazz then please still let me know. I am weak.
Dont think you're asking enough for it then Clarky if it's got to help fund the Honeymoon............womens needs increase exponentially with marriage!
11. Would suit me nicely.....if my 30th Ray sells and this is still here I'll be asking you to make a slight detour to Rotherham on your way from Leeds to Loughborough. bump
12. Well nearly 6000 hits so time to go for the final price drop to £1100!!!! Just had a bit of bad news on my latest band project so conversion of some wood to cash would come in handy.
13. In the same position myself mate (that's why the Ray is up for sale). Very versatile are single H rays but can't do the P bass thing so well.
14. Pretty fine Ray that! I've a black Ray of about the same age with a highly figured neck......must have slipped through the QC police.
15.
Who'd have thought the same two 30th Anni Stingray's would be back on at the same time aye Mart??
You're not wrong.....unlikely to happen again, maybe I should start the 30th anni club in the porn section to see how many are owned by BCers.
16. Very nice.....unfortunately no skinny strings to trade!
17. Wish you were a bit closer to the socialist republic Col.....I'd love to try this out. If for some odd reason this or mine hasn't gone in a couple of weeks I'm doing a lecture sess down at Swansea Uni - just a thought.
18. Some interesting trade options but still here at the minute.
19. Decided to have yet another go because hard cash will be easier to exchange for the bass more suited to my needs! £1150ovno
20. Lovely this Chris.....just wish I could afford it.
21. Hey take my Ray 30th, it's less £ and the neck socket is like a gnats chuff. Only single H tho.......never mind. All the best, I hope you get this sorted.
22. Watching with interest.........thought this was mine at first. Thought I'd sold it and forgotten! Good price for this, great basses, deserves to sell!
23. Hiya SS, Sorry mate looks like the P bass I was after will be traded tomorrow so I'm afraid this won't be available. My Bad didn't get around to pulling this thread. I've come to the conclusion that I'm destined to stay with this bass for a while longer, in fact I've just emailed strings and things for a replacement 5 ply vintage pick guard so that I can get the old one off and get it buffed up. Thanks for all those that expressed an interest, at some point I'll be looking for my 50th birthday bass that will be a vintage of some description or other, this will then be put to good use to help fund it!
24. My tastes on necks have changed over the last few years. I used to be far more comfortable with a Jazz but now find the 1.625 Precision to be spot on. This Ray feels slightly skinnier than that but about the same as my 2001 Fretless Ray. Ironically when I had the 2011 Ric for a couple of weeks in trade against this I didn't find it as comfortable at the nut end (front to back) because of the slight volute but further down the neck I don't think there's much can beat the Ric profile. I've just had an hour with the 30th and I'm starting to have a wobble myself.
