2.
I've give you £500 for it
I'll see your bid and raise you £25 (as long as I sell my Ray for £550 )
3. Hiya IS. Nice to see the expanding contigent of the Rotherham 'Chapter' on BC. Can't think of anything I've played in that you might have seen. Maybe, Hot Ice (Rock covers - 1990's), UK (Britpop covers - Mid - late 90's), The Overtones (Rock covers - late 90's to early noughties) and currently MGM (Trio - 60/70's covers). More often recently tho numerous jam nights in the area playing whatever, if you're ever in the vicinity let us know.
4. Very nice Mark, what's not to like about a nice sparkly red Ray
5.
Oh man, this is so tempting. I've got the cash burning a very big hole in my pocket, but I'm supposed to be saving for a new camera. I guess you're local too - I'm in Sheffield.
Very local - Rotherham Don't forget a bass is for life not just for Christmas
6.
Great price for this IMO. Don't think you should be in too much of a hurry to bottom out the price - I'd be surprised if it didn't sell with a little persistence at this price.
Cheers BW. Feeling that £450 is about the going rate on these (especially with the custom case - cheapest I've seen these is $149 without taxes/shipping)), just gotta wait for someone who wants a Fretless.
7. No prob. The jazz is up for trade/sale but fretlesses are normally slow moving. Cheers, Mart
8. One comment of note. If you're deffo going for a Ray just do the 'Items Wanted' on here - you'll save £300+ over Electro.
9. I 've had this bass for a few months now - originally bought off a fellow BC'er. It was bought to use in an 'acoustic' jam night. Unfortunately that has now gone south and I'm more in need of a good 5 stringer as my reportoire of Cream, Talk Talk and Pino isn't really that useful in my current activities and this is too nice a bass to sit in a case. It's in pretty good condition with just a few cosmetic scratches on the front (only visible up close) and a 2mm ding on the lower horn. No buckle rash at all. It's currently strung with fairly new D'addario flats and there is no visible fretboard wear. It comes with a near mint C&G Fender vintage style case in black tolex with the plush funky orange fur lining. I'd prefer a trade on this as cash seems to be in short supply and have some cash to put into a deal against a good condish G&L or Ray5 if anyone's got one going spare. Cash wise I'd be looking to get back something close to what I paid - £500 with delivery but I'm open to negotiation. I'm not in a mad rush to part this out so I'm happy to sit back and see if the credit crunch is easing any....
10. I'd say about £450 - 500, if in average - good condish (i.e non-faulty bridge, quiet pickups and straight neck - like my 1999 USA Jazz). But the market may (yet again) surprise me.
11.
Fair Point..... although I did get £750 for my last Ray in about an hour on here.... !
Was it gold plated?
12.
Considering a Status Neck for my Ray..... decisions / decisions ?
Now that I'd like - just need the £3-400 to sort it (probably worth more than the Ray in the current climate). Status wise I'd love a Stealth - the money for that may take a little longer...
13.
Great idea. You'll have to be quick, as Rob is discontinuing the SmartBass range. It's down to whatever parts they've got left made up now I played one with just a precision style pickup & it was quite nice. Your suggested pickup configuration sounds really nice. Would like to see that one. Rich.
I tried one of these a few months back Rich - somehow it just didn't feel like a 'real' Status......sorry. Guess I'm picky - if I ever aquire a Status it'll have to be a 'good un'
14. Just cut out the middleman Mark and get a (another?) Stingray
15. Yup, loving the dog. If the dog has no scratches or noticeable dinks I could be tempted to px my SR4. Sorry it's been a long day....................
16.
it isn't
Which one?

Must make it my mission to own one of these one day (despite being crap at slap). Unfortunately my cash is tied up in basses affected by the credit crunch....
18. Jimmy, If I had the house room I'd snap your hand off. You're giving it away at this price....
19. I reckon the prices have dropped about £100 in the last couple of months for SR4/Sterling 4H's. I deffo think they are undervalued at the mo, but then again MIA Jazzes and P's are also down (Std S1 P's in good nick seem to be down around 4-450 against 500 this time last year). One thing to consider tho is out of the 4000 or so memebrs on BC, maybe only 2/3 of those are active and only half of those on the GAS trail so the money pool is small compared with the bay. So if you can be arsed and have the time then maybe the bay it is and get the favourable response MarkyTB had. I sold my 2004 St4 a few months back for £650 and the best offer I had on my 2005 SR4 recently was £550. At that point I guess you have to be pretty GAS'ed up to sell. Fortunately I wasn't ^_^ All that said tho, that was a pretty good score H.
20. Thing of beauty that. Had the market been better so I could sell my SR4 I would have been sorely tempted. Good luck with the sale.
21. That brings tears to me eyes. SRF did you have the neck fitted by Status? I fitted a Status fretless neck to a Jazz a couple of years back - it worked ok but it would only fit well on one out of the 2 Jazzes I had. Pity the Black neck wouldn't suit my Red Ray so well.......or would it?
22.
the best sound fretless for me & many other old farts has to be a fender jazz--mwaah to die for.
+1. Can't go wrong with a Jazz F'less
