1. Yes I'm looking, but like the populous at large I also find myself brassick
2.
you can't be skint... aren't you that snotty little Tory boy who outstaged Maggie Thatcher at one of the party conferences?
Thought that was William Hague. Lived near me - the 'Hague Pop Empire'. He was a To**er then as well. Despite his comment, he'd never touched a pint of John Smiths in his life
3. Tony, I'd love to let the MIA P go but......................it's a shade over 8 pounds, sounds just like Thin Lizzy and is my goto bass for just about every gig (The Jazz and Ray generally only do 'guest appearances' at jam nights) - it's taken me 20 years to find one as nice as this! I can see why you want one. I think the solid ASAT would start to weigh me down half way thru the last set (The Ray does - just over 9 pounds). Last year when I was on a Warwick Thumb, a MM Sterling and a Lakland - I'd have laughed myself sick if someone told me I'd end up mainly playing a P bass. Dammit please someone buy this ASAT quick!
4. Thank god for that - I was starting to weaken. Don't ever decide to trade/sell the ASAT semi (aptly named).
5. Dammit Tony, tempting me like that....................must.....resist
6. Market's too lean - think I'll hang on to this for a while, sure I'll find a use for it.
7. Very, very, very nice. Just made me decide to gig with the Ray tonite instead of the Precision.
8. I liked the SR5 20th Anni pg less MM but somehow this doesn't do it...
9. Well this seems to be gone and not gone more times than a, well, thing that's gone and not gone a lot of times. I'll try again - BUMP
10. Don't do it..........................seriously, don't do it.
11. Ian, Fender Jazz, but knock him down to <£500 :brow: Personally I'd go for the G&L (couldn't get one for <£750 when I was looking a few months back - ended up with a Fretless Jazz - WTF?) but I understand your pain on 5ers
12. I always go wireless - does that protect me? I assumed it did if the amp had double insulation like most domestic electrical goods.
13.
Ahh ok, you know what, I nearly got one of those from ebay, was pre EB with the muted bridge thing. But then decided that I didnt need 2 4H rays, both maple and both red.
Agreed, more than one Ray 4H is just plain greedy
14. Wish I'd seen this before, got a nice 2005 maple necked CAR Ray 4 single H that I'd have been tempted to move for this
15.
Unfortunately not Martin. What with my car needing a service and my wife's desire to get more bits done to the house, my GAS fund is non-existent. Never mind, it would've clashed with my eyes anyway
Nick, your GAS under control - never! BTW any news on the Shuker 5?
16. Cheers BW. This and Ian's 300 Watter are both bargains. TBH if it won't fetch £150 tho I'll keep it back - guess a back up would always come in handy.
17. Bumped for addition of piccies
18. I feel your pain. I sold my DJ5 a few months back - couldn't get on with the neck. Now excluvively back to 4's - guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks. This is a seriously fine Jazz bass at a great price - credit crunch or no credit crunch.
19. I wan't really into the MIA Jazz vs MIM argument but I've got to admit the MIA fretless I now have is head and shoulders above the MIM I had. It feels similar but the sound is just sooooooooo much 'smoother'? Agree that they probably aren't the best Jazzes tho...............however I will have to continue dreaming of the Sadowsky - anybody want to swap me one for a Stingray + Jazz?
20.
You know its bad when schools are closing! Our school has had an axe hanging over it for a few years (along with all of the other Middle schools in our town), it will now (along with 5 other schools) close in 2010 to make way for privatised education and who knows how many of us will be out of jobs. All to save money under the auspice it is to raise standards.
I qualified as a teacher about 5 years ago but went back into engineering (now purchasing) mainly for financial reasons but kept the QTS in the back pocket for a rainy day. Maybe it's time to stop paying my GTC subs...............
21.
Better watch out Bassy, if I shift my Sandberg Jazz anytime soon you might be subject to a Cougar bite. Lovely bass, deserves to be sold.
Jim, you hate Statii - you said they were for sad 80's b******s like me
