1.
LOL The 'Modulus Beedster 4' doesn't have quite the same cache really does it, but thanks anyway! Re modern MIA Precisions, I'm right with you. My MIJs have always been better (and half the price if buying used). I've just put together a bitsa Precision (also for sale on here) for about £300, and it knocks the socks off anything Precisionny that's come out of Corona for a while (having said that, the SD QPs and Badass certainly help). Given that the QC at Fender in the 70's was reputed to be so bad, and given that '70s Precisions can be thunerously awesome, I wonder whether Precisions just get better with age? Perhaps instruments that seems a little lacking in something today might, in 15 years, be real good 'uns? Cheers Chris
Chris, OTPJ, I would have been right with you on this one if I hadn't bought a MIA 2004 P off Old Horse.. Just about as good as any P I've ever played including a '82 JV that I have particularly fond memories of. Perhaps there's still some variation in Corona?
2. Maybe I should look into what my daughter's doing with the money I pass over to her to support Uni.......
3. Jimmy, you've already got too many basses..... Having said that, so have I. New DJ5 on its way..........
4. Wise move Chris...this one's a keeper.
5. I've 'tried' to buy one a number of times. Each time I walk out of the shop with the money still in my pocket. As said above - look cool tho...
6. Been pretty close on the chunder thing a couple of times. Once played a WMC gig foaming at the mouth with Rennies with a bucket behing the back drop just in case.
7. Dammit Homer....wish this didn't keep coming up to the top. My wife's just seen it and said 'why didn't you buy that?' There's no justice!
8. Good move Homer................I live in hope that'll own one of these one day
9. Good one. Seems when I have some cash - all that there is are 5'ers. Just can't get on with em.
10.
Bloody Hell!! Good for you Mart.
We can but hope - Mrs MTB's shoe buying spree is getting ever closer It would look nice alongside your old Black P bass OHM. If this doesn't work out it may be BassCentral for me. Have you sorted your BG out yet?
11. Should that be Moooo...sicman. Sorry, gets coat.....
12.
That was my experience as well. Not good on a bass costing close to £1000. Ive not seen such poor workmanship on a neck like that before. not even on £99 bass's. Bloody cheek if you ask me. so much for craftsmanship. they do play and sound good though.
You've just put me off a Sandberg - anyone selling a Lakky? (sorry for the hijack )
13.
Try a lighter bass for a while. I didn't really notice how heavy my Ray was until I started playing other basses. Now I pick it up and it feels like it weighs a ton.
Ditto I moved from a Stingray to a Sterling, didn't help the shoulder ache on long gigs as much as I thought it would. The comfort strap is a good idea - also strapping it higher up (if you're the type who wears it on your hips) can help. In the end I cured the problem by buying a MIA precision which was about 1.5 pounds lighter.
14. Couple of months since I bought his newer Precision - great guy to deal with.
15. Congrats on the sale OHM - looks like MM's are back in style.
16.
Good news Mart. Does that mean you're going Status shopping???
Oh yes, I'm hoping my GAS will be sorted for a while. Then again once you've picked up your Bob Glaub (Holdness? Monkhouse?) I'm sure you'll set it off again. Then again I think it would have to be pretty special to out 'P' your '75!
17. This bass has now gone to fellow bass chatter and Elliot Minor bassist - Ed. Hope he has many hours of fun with this bass and I look forward to seeing it sprawled across the front cover of Kerrang (and supporting Linkin Park). Cheers for all those that showed an interest and glad that the bass could stay within the 'community', Mart
18. All pm's replied to, Cheers, Mart
19.
'kin 'ell Martin, tempted to have a look at her.
Yo, J. Thought you had a car to sort out Yup parting with this one won't be easy but the craving for carbon just won't go away.
20. Hi Mark, sorry mate, at the mo I'm looking at cash because of a serious case of Status related GAS... I'm giving meself about another week to sell this, if it doesn't go nevermind I'll just have to make a concerted effort to use it more often. Daft as it sounds one of the main reasons it doesn't get used is because it is mint and most of the places I play, well, aren't! Cheers, Mart

22. Now offered at the remarkably low price of £650....
23. 'Saturday night and bored because I don't have a gig' bump. Did I mention that it was 'as new' and black.........the brain isn't what it used to be, must be all that cheap meat I ate as a student in the Eighties. Anyone who wants to try it out will be rewarded with a cup of Yorkshire tea using Yorkshire water......it's a taste sensation (works best with 3 sugars) - honest.
