Just backline Dave, for the smaller places we don’t bother with going through the PA Thought I’d add this one - for a laugh... https://www.facebook.com/molly.moo.1044186/videos/646281243392120/

Thanks Dave, like Trev I was using a Mustang, in this case the Mikey Way sig though. Always surprised by the nice tone from a humble bass. Rig was a Makbass Little Marcus 500 through 2 NY121 cabs.

Had a cracking pre-Christmas gig in Sheffield last night, the last local gig of the year so we made the most of it. Hope the FB link works this time! https://www.facebook.com/molly.moo.1044186/videos/1222652248260116/?

We rehearsed this one a fair bit before lockdown and got it fairly close (well as close as a 4pc can get it) but for some reason it got shelved when we started back up in August. We still do Crocodile Rock though which always goes down well.

I don’t usually go through the PA either Dave unless it’s a bigger affair like the bikers gigs we do. The Sandberg sounds nice and defined....might give another one a chance.

Sounding good Dave.

Your best (and worst!) bass gear purchases of 2021?
martthebass replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
I was pretty much there a couple of years back with a Ric, P and a Ray (and 3 Mustangs....), but seem to have drifted from the path now with a Status, US Sterling and a Sandberg (albeit temporarily). -
It's never nice when something 'dies' like this but try to see the upside; you'll no longer be wasting your time with a bedroom guitarist dictator. Get out there, hit some jamnights, watch some bands, have some fun and then get back on the pony when the time is right.

Well this is shameful for me but when you knows, you knows. I only picked this up last week from Sammybass of this parish but it just confirms to me that I really am much happier with single pup basses in a live environment. This is a near immaculate example of a proper German Sandberg California 2 TT4, the active/passive one with the Delanos. It's a lovely matte finished piece of lightweight swamp ash and is a perfectly balanced 7.5lbs or thereabouts. The swamp ash body is a custom option as is theebony fretboard and it looks to have a quarter sawn neck (?). I'm asking what I paid for it seeing as it's only had about 3 hours of noodling and a rehearsal. I've used SammyBass's images as nothing has changed in it's condition over the last week (hope you're ok with that Sam). As this is gigbag not HSC it'll be a collection or dodgy motorway services pickup only - sorry I don't trust couriers with breakables. Ideally I'd prefer a trade, a MIA P bass in great condition would be sound, otherwise cash will do fine.

Looked like fun mate, hope you’re doing well Blue.

Try FB Market place (the Bass Guitar one...) also, mine sold in 20 minutes on there. They are fetching top dollar at the moment 😉

Sadly not Dave, hopefully we’ll get some in the coming weeks.

Does for me...maybe the poster had set it to private? Never mind.

https://www.facebook.com/evans.nicoleta/videos/306641567930260/ Sorry about the quality of this (recorded by an enthusiastic member of the audience) but the Glamfever XMas roadshow got on the way last night. Really missed it last year, determined to enjoy it this year!

Looking good Dave

Met up with Sam to pick up his Sandberg, great bloke, easy peasy transaction.

Now that's just heresy Dave....you'll look like an 80s throwback 😝

Thanks Cuzzie, much appreciated

Love the 'improvised' thumb rest!

Well I think the OP has considered that and doesn’t think it accounts for the resistance. Sure it’s made things difficult but far from impossible.

Not sure I’m following you....are you agreeing or disagreeing with me? Pretty sure I’m a surface dweller as I see no rock....

Cheers Dave, thanks for that.
