  1. Sadly not Dave, hopefully we’ll get some in the coming weeks.
  2. Does for me...maybe the poster had set it to private? Never mind.
  3. https://www.facebook.com/evans.nicoleta/videos/306641567930260/ Sorry about the quality of this (recorded by an enthusiastic member of the audience) but the Glamfever XMas roadshow got on the way last night. Really missed it last year, determined to enjoy it this year!
  4. Looking good Dave
  5. Surprised this is still here Peter, lovely bass.
  6. Met up with Sam to pick up his Sandberg, great bloke, easy peasy transaction.
  7. Now that's just heresy Dave....you'll look like an 80s throwback 😝
  8. Thanks Cuzzie, much appreciated
  9. Love the 'improvised' thumb rest!
  10. Well I think the OP has considered that and doesn’t think it accounts for the resistance. Sure it’s made things difficult but far from impossible.
  11. Not sure I’m following you....are you agreeing or disagreeing with me? Pretty sure I’m a surface dweller as I see no rock....
  12. Cheers Dave, thanks for that.
  13. I've been thinking about a Sandberg recently but my previous experience, albeit some years back, with a Basic Ken Taylor was not brilliant. I found the overall character of the bass (double Delano humbucker?) to be on the dark side which I couldn't dial out no matter what amp/bass settings I tried. Is this still the same with the modern Sandys? I can't deny that the build looks great and I love the look of the weight on the Cali 2s.
  14. To be honest - for a covers band I'd have said 6 months..😝
  15. It seems to me that, to an extent, the band isn't really focused on being a 'performing' band. The Rhythm guitarist and Lead come to that, are acting more as if it's a bit of a 'jammimg' band or social meet up kind of thing? Maybe your objectives for the band and their's don't align? To be honest, any band that has been rehearsing for going on 2 years without a gig says to me that gigging is not their priority.
  16. TBH, it sounds like a bit of a toxic situation and you come over as feeling marginalised. I'd take this as writing on the wall but you're there and I'm not so only you can make that judgement. As others have said, do the gig, appraise the situation then and if it's no better walk away in as pleasant a way as possible.
  17. To be honest when you said the guy goes into a 'rage' that would be enough for me to call it a day. If the guy can't play nice with other people then he isn't a 'great' guitarist, there's more to being a great guitarist than good licks. If the band isn't tight then it's limited and it doesn't matter how good he is it will sound crap. Knock it on the head and find some decent guys to play with.
  18. Cheers Pete, would have been good to see you, pie and pea supper too! Hope you’re keeping well mate.
  19. Eastrington - near Gilberdyke
  20. Very nice gig in a 17th century church in a little East Yorkshire village last night. A far cry from our normal haunts but enjoyable nonetheless
  21. This year I've actually sold more than I've bought which is a novelty. 3 out, one in, though the one in is special to me and by default has to be my 'best' purchase.
  22. My most gigged bass is a Squier Mikey Way Mustang, it could do with a slightly hotter pickup (to make it perfection), but 200 gigs in it's standing the test of time and owes me bugger all.
  23. Forgot to mention, I really think the JMJ Mustang is a future classic, one of the best Fenders I’ve played regardless of scale length and country of manufacture - and that includes my previously owned 1982 big logo JV 57 P bass.
  24. Erm, it’s shorter. I gig all the time with a shortie, easier to get around the board, I just put a gauge up on the strings to tighten things up to more comparable to my long scales. Sound wise, I actually prefer my jmj Mustang to previous Fender Jazz/P basses I’ve gigged in the past.
