Nah, that would mean no Blue.......BC wouldn’t be the same. We’re a friendly and inclusive lot! -

Your 2 I can empathise with. Due to the nature of the 'day job' I've occasionally found myself falling into the role of organiser and fixer. I've generally found that quickly runs into difficulties with personal frustration and disappointment (the phrase 'herding cats' comes to mind). In my current 'adventure' I've intentionally taken a more back seat role and I feel much happier for it, the band relationships and so forth are the best I've experienced. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect to be looked after, but just looking after my own travel, equipment, level of preparedness is a breath of fresh air to me. Fortunately the other band members are just as diligent so the whole dynamic works.

I’ve still got these red velvet beauties - for stage use only of course 😜

Whatever breed of tree it is it looks pretty awesome.

Erm.....I posted it as a bit of light hearted p155taking. That was also the spirit in which it was given at the backstage shown - the techs were great. Please view it in the spirit it was posted. As you were.....

I refer you all to......sorry couldn’t resist it.

Serves you right for not having a 'proper' bass. You know that it's got to be a Precision....tsk.

Alas not

Anyone got any suggestions for best options for band liability insurance? Need cover for some hotel gigs early next year. Thanks in advance.

Erm......couple of weeks back on a JMJ Mustang when I already had 2 Mustangs. I promised the boss that I'd sell one and fortunately did. As a consequence my genitalia are still largely intact, but it was a close thing.

I've had that problem on the stands and I'm aware of the amazing Rickenbacker finishes that reacted with the linings of their own cases but I'm amazed that any case sold for storing/carrying a guitar would have a caveat on guitars with a lacquer finish (unless they were being specific on Nitro or somesuch). What are they supposed to be finished in - nearly all guitars have a surface coating of some description? Ignore me - just talking to meself.

Mr Shuker - get the full set up at the same time? Nice drive in the peaks at this time of year as a bonus.

I think it’s one, on hindsight I should’ve kept, but fortunately the Starry Night is pretty close H

30th anni.....one of the best rays ever made.

Future collectors item?

The vintera bass does look very similar, but I prefer the rosewood board on the JMJ. It pretty much answers the request for a non-relic version of the JMJ though.

TBH - I could understand the damage not being picked up even if this was an open box despatch as the uninitiated wouldn't necessarily know what was intended and what wasn't. Absolutely no excuse for the gig bag though. This is premium range for MIM and the Fender site specifically states that it comes with a decent gig bag.

You'll only answer that by trying both mate.....IMHO while the differences are there the people in the audience wouldn't give a ..... For my part I prefer the 3EQ on fretted (nice to have mids control for on the fly adjustments on stage) and 2EQ on fretless (seems to just 'work').

Not silly at all mate, I’ve had a couple of roadworns and there’s a reason they don’t generally ding up the neck! I found myself laying mine down gently on a table at a jam night last week - had to give myself a stern talking to.

Yep, it should have come with a Fender deluxe gig bag. Lots of marks on mine, and laquer checking but not any marks or dings on the edges of the fretboard. Plenty of marks on the edges and top of the headstock.
