  1. You could be right JLP, I haven't had a problem with mine but I certainly wouldn't guarantee it. To be fair though mine is used more for transport in the van which isn't often - I usually use gig bags when using my own transport. Not sure what the issue with lacquer could be though?
  2. I'm waiting for the Jazz Bass 'Helium' model too. Shoulder probs have made me press the Dano into action for this weekend's gig. See you Friday Pete.
  3. The Gator EXL - extra long guitar case (just) fits. That's what I use with my Mustangs. About £70-75
  4. Mr Shuker - get the full set up at the same time? Nice drive in the peaks at this time of year as a bonus.
  5. I think it’s one, on hindsight I should’ve kept, but fortunately the Starry Night is pretty close H
  6. 30th anni.....one of the best rays ever made.
  7. Future collectors item?
  8. The vintera bass does look very similar, but I prefer the rosewood board on the JMJ. It pretty much answers the request for a non-relic version of the JMJ though.
  9. TBH - I could understand the damage not being picked up even if this was an open box despatch as the uninitiated wouldn't necessarily know what was intended and what wasn't. Absolutely no excuse for the gig bag though. This is premium range for MIM and the Fender site specifically states that it comes with a decent gig bag.
  10. You'll only answer that by trying both mate.....IMHO while the differences are there the people in the audience wouldn't give a ..... For my part I prefer the 3EQ on fretted (nice to have mids control for on the fly adjustments on stage) and 2EQ on fretless (seems to just 'work').
  11. Not silly at all mate, I’ve had a couple of roadworns and there’s a reason they don’t generally ding up the neck! I found myself laying mine down gently on a table at a jam night last week - had to give myself a stern talking to.
  12. Yep, it should have come with a Fender deluxe gig bag. Lots of marks on mine, and laquer checking but not any marks or dings on the edges of the fretboard. Plenty of marks on the edges and top of the headstock.
  13. Think I’ll hang on to this one for a bit, the wife has stopped whinging about the number of basses in the house.
  14. These days I generally take very little notice of the on stage sound (as long as I can hear myself and the drummer, and at least some of the vocal). It can quite often be pants but the FOH sound is fine.
  15. No worries KT, this baby has now gone off to it's new home in the West Midlands so I think you're safe for a while.
  16. Trouble is it’s taking over my wardrobe D, can’t get in there for feather boas and sparkly jackets....
  17. I didn’t mate, just caught a couple of bands, Exhibit A and Big Day. Great event, hope to do it again next year.
  18. My favourite decade....the one that taste forgot. I’d never dress so ostentatiously.......
  19. Met up with Dave and now a beautiful CIJ Mustang is in his possession, sell with confidence......I hope the bas gives you great service.
  20. Really copping the Glam look.....think you’ve just about persuaded me to keep my Dano.
  21. Awesome gig yesterday evening at the Farmyard Bikers rally in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. This is one of big ones at about 6-7000 punters and loads of bands over 4 stages and 2 days. Great weather and enthusiastic crowd, even had time for a beer after our spot and watched a couple of bands. Loved the backstage request.....lol
  22. Sorry, it didn’t quite make it 6 1/4 lbs........
  23. Ditto, gotta love cockers lol
  24. Tonight’s gig will see some Mustang action....the shoulder will hold!
  25. TBH, I don't have a problem while playing. The pain comes later, usually the next day. I've got a 4 week gig break after today (haven't had a weekend off since October last year) so I'm hoping it'll ease, if not I'm booking time with the company physio.
