  1. Don’t disagree but needs to be Tina Weymouth comp stripe lol.
  2. I also don't see the point in this. A good split pickup CIJ Mustang reissue can still be had for south of £700 (even with the comp stripe) and will knock spots off one of these.
  3. I really intended to cut gear buys/swaps to a minimum this year (other than consumables) but I wasn't entirely successful. In: MIA Fender Precision, CIJ Fender Mustang, MM Caprice Bass, Out: MII Jaguar SS, MIA Precision, MIA MM Sub Sterling, MM Stingray Fretless On the positive side (?) the bass headcount has reduced from 6 to 5. I'd like to say that the line up is now stable but I'd just be kidding myself. Onwards and upwards!
  4. Nothing I hate more than playing those cliquey pubs where the audience is half full of other musicians looking for fault. Fortunately the band I'm in now is Fun/Party style and doesn't attract that clientele.
  5. You’re totally wrong, wronger than the wrongest wrong thing. I won’t justify why, you just are. Will that do?
  6. Sorry but I've never found a decent opportunity/position in a band using JMB, Party Sounds and the like. Word of mouth, getting out there has always been the best route for myself.
  7. Vim Fuego........
  8. Not sure if it makes a difference if you are body through stringing or not Nathan - both of mine are strung through the body?
  9. Both of mine have lower string tensions than my long scales - took me a while to get used to them. Not sure what are on the Mikey Way - (D'addarios?) but its hybrid slinkys on the CIJ reissue. Pretty sure they are 40 - 100s in each case.
  10. You're welcome to come and try it Pete - see if it suits
  11. Hi Pete, the Ray Starry Night is 9lb 8 by my digital scales and the Caprice is dead on 8lb.
  12. So I understand. A bit too left field for Fender and Musicman officionados. I went for the Caprice because I was looking for something ‘smoother’ than the Ray or Sterling but I’ve never been overly keen on Jazzes. The nice light weight was also a bonus.
  13. They are pretty awesome. Wish I’d managed to get a Caprice in the same finish...
  14. My current two. Chalk and cheese sound wise.
  15. Agree on this NJE, I'd love to have the facility to adjust the rod on my MIJ mustang without having to take the bloody neck off. And I'm sure a set of lightweight tuners would improve the neck balance - Ironic that my MII Mikey Way Mustang has got much better balance than the significantly more expensive MIJ reissue.
  16. On reflection I think 3 of mine are blue - artistic licence on the Stingray which is mauvey, lilacy, purply blue
  17. Just picked one up just like this one.....
  18. Nice one!
  19. Nice one - hope it works out for yer.
  20. ...........erm. Move along, nothing to see here.
  21. Really surprised this one hasn't gone yet Dan. Trade you for a Curly Wurly and a 'near mint' Lion Bar? You sure on the Wal......all those knobs and weird electrickery? What about a nice P bass or a Mustang lol
  22. I quite happy just to 'watch' Tina Weymouth play bass......
  23. The Heep tour in 1980! Saw them at Sheffield City Hall on a Snowy Sunday night. One of the best concerts I ever attended - didn't realise it was TB on bass.
  24. I’ll give this another bump. Still available and at a great price for one of these.
  25. Sorry I’m crap at science, my degree was in Chemistry 😂
