  1. To be fair, if I go out front to get the sound balanced, say 25m from the receiver I can tell there’s a delay. If I was going to run around the room I’d have to change the settings. On a big stage, no matter where I am, I cant detect the delay. I think this is a small price for the sound quality and lack of break up on the standard setting.
  2. You can tweak settings to suit Dave, though on a normal big club type stage it isn’t noticeable on the standard setting. Mine has been foolproof even in bad rf situations.
  3. Ditto, also been caught by that one. I was expecting, All Right Now, Wishing Well, Mustang, Brown Sugar, You Really Got Me etc, etc, etc...... What I got was a list of obscure album tracks from Molly Hatchet, April Wine, Iron Maiden, Pat Travers, MSG.........not a good night.
  4. Glad to hear that Andy.....no one wants to see a good bassist underutilised!
  5. I accept that it's off topic in not being either a classic or a natural, but y'know......
  6. Being in a Glam Rock tribby - Slade's finest and It'll be lonely this XMas. 2 is more than enough.
  7. I'll just leave this one here......
  8. Not worth fighting over mate, plenty of good Mustangs out there. TBH I prefer the CIJ reissues to the 70s US ones I’ve played.
  9. I’m just a little East of you Q (Rotherham) so I’m sure something could be arranged 😊
  10. Same here, I do like a nice Mustang but that therefore precludes this one.
  11. A bit of a record in terms of moving on a bass this one. I only picked up this bass last week from Dan (Deedee); it was obtained on the basis of providing a decent passive backup for a special gig and to keep some 'bass fund' money getting turned into kitchen white goods by she who must be obeyed.... It's an excellent example of the breed, in excellent condition (one tiny mark on the bottom which won't photograph) in its lovely, creamy Olympic White livery. It's also very easy on the shoulder at about 8.25lb but displays no neck dive. I really would like to keep this bass but my brief ownership has finally convinced me that I'm not a Precision guy and will always prefer MM basses (and Status - when the cash allows....), it didn't help that I got chance to play Dan's MM Ray Special 4H and Sterling 4HH which were both sublime. I'm open to trades (on 4 string fretted only) which are in equally good condition (or acceptable relic) and would be very amenable to a MM Sterling US but am flexible; try me, I can only say no. Some money could be added for the right bass. Collection or meet up on this one only at the moment (after my recent experience on sending a bass to Italy.......), based near Sheffield so reasonably central. Anyway, below are some nice pics, these were the one's on Deedee's post - I hope he doesn't mind.
  12. Polite reminder that trade offers should be made by pm only.
  13. Whooops...sorry my bad, it's been a long weekend - It's a Mustang. Topic title suitably amended.
  14. I've had my Mikey Way Sig for about 18 months and it tends to get used as the main bass in my Glam Rock Tribute act - mainly due to the sparkly appearance and compact size. It fits the role well (despite me having more sophisticated basses at my disposal) but I sometimes find it a little lacking in definition as it's not as flexible as some basses. This can have me doing a bit of knob twiddling on the amp and pedal board on occasion to get the best compromise. So, I was looking at how I can improve the sound a bit and was looking to address the pup which I feel is probably the weak link. Does anyone have any knowledge of a decent straight slot in pup which would give the required tonal flexibility improvement?
  15. We did this gig as a 'special' as the vocalist in the band lived in Dartford for 15 years before returning back to the Shire. We're booked up through 2019 so I think it will be a while before we do the return trip.
  16. Great gig on Saturday night at Dartford Social club. Unfortunately Dartford tunnel was closed which meant the whole area was pretty much gridlocked - something us in the frozen north don't normally have to contend with. This meant the run from the Travelodge to the venue was an hour instead of 10 minutes. We were going to leave the gear at the venue overnight, but due to the traffic problems we decided to pack up and store in the van overnight. This was very nearly a grave error as overnight a group of scrotes decided to have a go at a number of vans in the carpark - ours included. Fortunately the deadlocks saved us but is was close.
  17. I had the same problem with my Limelight J bass. Didn’t bother messing with the bridge just swapped it out for a decent Wilkinson unit. Cheap fix.
  18. Wasn't 'Rock On' an Herbie Flowers bassline?
  19. When I got my 2010 model I checked over the finish with a fine toothed comb to make sure it was all good. 8 years on it’s still fine but I agree there should be no defects at this pricing point.
  20. Hurry up and buy this one Pete....I'm getting tempted but fortunately I'm still about £500 short......
  21. Just going through this also D. Part of the reason I generally won’t do an overseas transaction. In the end agreed the buyer would arrange own courier and accept responsibility.
  22. Wow that was quick!
  23. Loving the Arias Clarky!
  24. Very nice - got the exact same model/colour combination. Great attention to detail on these re-issues and brilliant, versatile sound from the SD pup, a real step up from the current MIM versions. Shouldn't hang around long at this price. Tina Weymouthtastic.
