We've got a couple of tiny TC Helicon voice solo FX150 that fit on the mic stands......very versatile for both vocal and instrument input. http://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/TC-Helicon-VoiceSolo-FX150-Vocal-Processor/WRL?origin=product-ads&gclid=CNOejOCAysECFabLtAodhx0AhA

Used to be when I was a youngster but I grew up and learned to appreciate music in a wider context....I can even see merit in Girls Aloud lol. I do struggle with a lot of chart stuff that relies heavily on loops and tech though....if a song doesn't have some level of interest for me in the lyrics I tend to switch station quickly.

Posting this on behalf of a singist friend who's looking to downsize his current heavyweight CS800/CS1200 gear. I recommended the A&H PA12CP; my current band acquired a used one of these mint for less than £400 and it's pretty damn good with the HK tops and HK active sub set up we use. Unfortunately I think we hit lucky and I haven't seen another one available for a while at this sort of price. I don't know much about mixer amps beyond the A&H and Dynacord so don't know if the Mackies, Alto and the like are as robust or reliable etc. Any help appreciated.
It's funny. I think when I asked for mine with a 'light' relic finish I had the same level of relicing as my Nate Mendel in mind (which is also described as light). Obviously, every one is different and whilst my expectation (and I imagine most people's expectation of a relic job they haven't seen) will be similar to the expectations you get when ordering a custom instrument. You have a vision, as does the builder, and whilst they may not match up, it doesn't mean that I am not happy with it. In fact, the relic job on mine exceeded my expectations and looks a lot more considered than the job on my Nate Mendel. Mark clearly knows what he is doing and has lots of genuine vintage Fenders in his possession to refer to so Id recommend him to anyone wanting an excellent quality relic bass.
I think Mark puts some or all of the relicing work out to another builder. He contacted me and said that the level of relicing on my commission was more than I'd requested and sent me detailed pics. He then gave me the option of waiting for another to be made up, I was happy to try it out and as Mark is such a nice guy he threw in a Hiscox at cost and a discount on the bass. When I got the bass, yes it was more reliced than I'd probably go for if they were lined up in a shop but as it plays and sounds so good I decided it was staying with me. Would I buy another......oh yes.

Thanks guys, it's a pity that it's not getting use with me but I never seem to be able to coordinate setting up at a gig and so this item never gets an outing. Trade wise if anyone has a great condition Boss Chorus that they would trade for this I'd be happy to hear. As always, cash would be appreciated also.
Yes even the light relics I've seen on this thread (including yours) would be too much for my taste, especially the metalwork, some tarnishing is good but I wouldn't want rust, I have one of the older Fender Road Worn Jazz Basses and that has about the right level or distress in my book.
Yep be careful on this my medium relic is um.....trashed and the metal work is dustier than preferred. Mark did give me the option of waiting for another but I took it. Do I regret it.......nah.

Another limelight Jazz. This really has become my go to bass. A bit reliced for some tastes but at least I don't get concerned about it picking up the odd ding.... -

Hardly used, never out of the house 80's Boss Microrack flanger in great condish. Were raved about at the time for their tricks over and above the standard pedal Boss flanger and are still highly regarded now. At work at the moment but will post pics later. Looking at £50 INCLUDING post to uk address.

This why I love Basschat! Now Ian, I've just got this small problem trying to encourage nuclear fusion at room temperature.....
Oh no, that sounds like a bit of an issue! Do you know why and how they're frozen? I imagine that'll be an issue if you want to swap them out at any point!...
Spoke with MMR on this one..it is down to the aging on the screws. To be fair I haven't had a go with a power driver which could perhaps work, but could conversely shear the screws. If it was a major issue I'd send it back to be sorted.
Geek99 - apologies, I should have been more specific re: the tort - it has a fairly authentic red celluloid look but I was referring primarily to the relicing - it's excellent and the faked 'crack' behind a screw is very cute. Re: the frozen bridge, it was perhaps over-reliced and the process (oxidisation) had interfered with function. One intonation screw and six of the saddle screws were entirely frozen - various solvents/lubricants/techniques failed to free them. Mark politely acknowledged the problem and is likely to offer advice/guidance in the future. I replaced all intonation screws and saddles - the latter with inexpensive but good brass barrels. The barrels are not threaded but its not an issue for me - the bass plays beautifully
Another thing to watch though is the pup screws, all the ones on my Jazz pups are frozen and as the pups aren't that high in output I would've liked to raise them a bit.

H is right IIRC that early Statii didn't have truss rods but the newer stuff, for example my 2007 Streamline does. Never had to touch the rod in the five years I've owned it. I briefly had a Stealth 1 some years back without the rod, the neck was pretty flat and I considered that I'd use the bridge to change string height - however when I changed the (ubiquitous) 30 - 90 to 45 - 105 I didn't need to make any adjustment as the neck is so stiff (?).

I think my MM P bass maple neck with maple FB came from Bluesbass. Tint was a little bit on the yellow side but the profile was great, more comfortable than most P basses I've played and not at all chunky.

Heavy relic 63J. Used it on a number of gigs over the last couple of months and it is definitely capable of delivering punch and subtlety as required. I know the relic appearance isn't to everyone's taste but it certainly stops me being precious about dinging it - it would be hard to spot a new one!

I play a Steamie in standard pickup config. It's the most versatile bass I own out of my current line up of Jazz, Rick and Ray. I agree that Status aren't the first bass that comes to mind when looking for warmth but it has an 18v 2 band pre that allows plenty of tone shaping - I've never had a problem dialling in a tone for my functions (60s and 70s pop/rock) and 80s pop pub band. It's not as bright as an S2 which surprised me a bit with the one piece graphite construction. PS....I'm probably one of the few Status users that doesn't slap ;-)

A thing of beauty that is!

I don't need another bass, I don't need another bass.......

Only use schallers on my Ric (as they are the standard buttons). Every other bass gets Grolsch rings......the cheapest and best IMHO.
