1. Very beautilicious HJ....as with the rest of the community, skint as a flint!
2. Played a local wine bar that was chokka and rammed full of 10 bob millionaires and TOWIE rejects. Unfortunately the bar owner left the TV running so we were competing against the footy. Despite spirited renditions of Clash, Alarm, Cure, Dexys classics it ws definitely a case of Costa Rica/Netherlands 1: Band 0
3.
Well, I pulled the trigger and am now an owner of a 4003 in Jetglo. Gotta say I'm bowled over. Undoubted, that I'll use this constantly for the next couple of months and then go back to my Thunderbirds, but it's a nice backup option to have. P
I'm more of a Jazz bass/Stingray guy but I do use a 4003 for the occasional gig. It's a great bass to have in the line up, it just has that tone. Try and hang onto it once the initial newness wears off and bring it out for the odd special occasion!
4. HK audio pro 15 passive. Great full range speakers
5. Indeed....wish I had some. Lots of PA gear to sort! I'll have to carry on playing Rio and Hungry Like The Wolf on a Ric lol!
6. I really like that! Unfortunately the only Jazz shaped thing I have is a 'relic' which is not to everyones taste.. Been looking for one in this condsih for ages as well :-(
7. Damn, just what I'm looking for but you're 200 miles away, never mind. GLWTS
8. Have you tried putting new batteries in yet?
9. Was really impressed with my VM77 Jazz (black)......these are a lot of bass for the money. GLWTS
10. What's global warming, war on terror, the upcoming zombie apocalypse in comparison to this WoT???? No contest!
11. I could send it to you D, but I'm afraid I'd have to kill you afterwards. I'm glad normal (hah!) service has been restored.
12.
almost certainly similar enough to attest to limelight quality though yes
I'd have thought so...core sound is the same. Just waiting for the hot wires to be delivered but you're welcome to have a go on the stock strings.
13. Very similar to Mark's except, 1963, black, heavy relic..........um, quite different when I think about it.
14. Andy, if you want to try one out locally you're welcome to have a go on mine. Not helping?
15. Cheers, an order for said Halfies sounds like a good idea.....great sound mate!
16. D, could you pm me with an indication of rough costs on the Spitfire pg.....a 50year old one!
17. One thing I did think D was what a great job he's done on the PG. I was in the process of getting a high quality repro but was surprised at the quality of the standard pg and the relicing treatment.
18.
A walking blues ? Like the detail of the broken tip on the (lower front) plate
I think that's the Limelight trade mark ;-)
19. Does that make ours 'limited editions'?
20.
The CMD121P only has the strap style handle because of the integral amp head. As far as I can see all other Markbass cabs and combos have recessed handles*. I would say this makes the case for recessed handles more compelling myself. Just noticed I have a Minimark.. doh...
Part of the reason why I kept my LM3 and got 2 NYC121 cabs........
21. The Limelight I have falls into the heavy relic/trashed category. I dont try to pass it off as a real 63JB but i wanted a reasonably authentic looking 63JB as there was no way I could afford a real YOB Jazz. I got the limelight for 2 other reasons: 1. I couldnt get hold of a Fender RW used and I wasnt paying £1050 for a new one, and 2. I'm a bit precious about pristine basses and I wanted a bass that I wouldnt be precious with at some of the 'funkier' pubs I play. The side benefit is that the bass plays and sounds superb.
22.
...No.
Oh come on, it's black and tort, BLACK and TORT! It's like Laurel and Hardy, Tom and Jerry, Yorkshire and Pudding!
23. Black.......although there's more wood on show than paint.
