I use Canva for my POD stuff. Very handy, and the Pro account is worth every penny to me.

Like a lot of you folk on here, I have owned quite a few basses over the years - probably 30 or so. What was your trajectory of increasingly good basses - ones that stood out along the way and surpassed your previous instruments in some way. First bass I owned - a metallic pink Charvel that I thought was great... until I played something else. 1st milestone bass (second bass purchase) - Ibanez Roadster that I played in a mate's music shop and subsequently traded the Charvel in for. Way more playable and gigged it for 3 or 4 years, and bought another off Ebay as a back up. Better sound, better action, active etc. 2nd milestone bass (probs 8th purchase) Musicman Stingray HH - probably my first 'quality' bass bought off Ebay - that funky sound, the solid neck, 5 way selector, and it was black. Lovely! Had it for about 12 years before selling. 3rd milestone bass (probs 15th or 16th?) - Status Stealth I got off the local FB music page. Fantastically playable, great action, very light, easy to learn to slap on. And one singer particularly liked the fretboard lights switched on... which I could have done without TBH... always felt a bit of a tw@t with those on. Still got that bass though! 4th milestone bass (last purchase) was a second hand Mayones Jabba 4 that I got off Bass Direct 3 years ago. Absolute beast of a bass - like a Fender Jazz but better, with active/passive options - difficult to explain how, but I wanted one for ages and I just clicked with it as soon as it arrived. Not selling that one ever! I've had plenty of Squiers, Fender Modern Player jazz, Fender USA jazz, Yamahas, Ibanez, a Dingwall 5er, A status 5er etc. in between, but these were the notables. Anyone else? 🙃

Dude could sink some beer for sure!

As long as you keep yourself in both physical and mental shape then crack on IMO. The question is whether people WANT to see your wrinkly gurning bass face on stage. If they don't.... sod 'em.... you're the one cracking the bass end out! 😎

A bit of weed helps me get some great ideas. A recording app on my phone means I have a record of them. If I am at home I can get them down on Guitar Pro. Funny thing is, the morning after a session I can still be quite productive - lying in bed with an acoustic guitar and the recording app has led to some creative stuff. Not really playing in a band or smoking da 'erb either these days though....

Botox and Fillers (would you) audition related

Yes. Up to and including recent times a man's worth was derived from status and resources, while a woman's was largely from beauty and thus marriageability. (Sounds archaic now, right?) So, apart from the aristocracy of previous centuries, it has been predominantly women who wore make up to enhance their 'worth', such as it was. Any bloke who wore make up was seen as a bit of a big girl's blouse. This would appear to still be the case to a large extent unless you're in some famous new romantic band.... but the times.. they are a-changing and who knows how norms will change in the coming years. -

What the hell, YouTube algorithm?

I liked em from the start, and BSSM was the pinnacle for me. Not that keen on subsequent albums - some good songs among it all though. They always seem strangely disappointing live.

I've had a couple of years off playing with any sort of regularity or learning anything, but now I'm back into it. First up.... Distant Early Warning by Rush. So far so good... dexterity is coming back fairly quickly.

I have a PRS SE custom 22 which is one of the best I've ever played.

Nice pair of zebra strides there, sir! -
Hell no - our singer would have spent the lot on weed.

Greetings, Mr. Jangly. Welcome to the jungle, sir! 😁

Nope. It's a hobby for me - something I do for fun. Relying on it for a living would kill it stone dead for me. Heard it all before, obvs. Fair play to anyone who give it a go, though!

Recently vacated by a Viking longship, perchance? I like it!! A lot!! 😁🤘

The pathological compulsion to advocate for the merits of the P-bass with flats. No cure known to medical science.

Anybody seen/heard this guy's stuff on YouTube? He takes vocal tracks and puts rock backing tracks to them. A lot of the vocal tracks are of the more traditional/ethnic variety, as well as some more comedy-based ones. Some of the results are rather pleasing to those of a rock persuasion.
