1. This is most comfortable for me. I could never play it way down below my waist. Years ago I tried it right up high like early Billy Sheehan or the dude from Bobaflex, but it looked sh*t and it made my wrist on the picking hand hurt.
 2. Only ever broke a string once, and that when I was using superwounds and tried a mad bend on the G. Pinnnggg!!. Haven't used (or even seen) superwounds for years.....
 3. Got my ROQSOLID cover for my Big Twin 2. Perfect. Looks great in black with red piping, tough as old boots and fits like a glove. Money well spent!
 4. It's the Peavey Max 700. No valvage in this one. It's been a good servant for nearly 10 years but I'm considering an upgrade - the Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.2 is looking favourite at the moment. The Peavey weighs a ton!
 5. First outing for the beast last night at the First And Last Inn at Sennen. Sounded great!!
 6. Nice addition. I love my Stinger <3
 7. The Enemy Within by Rush always tickled my gonads whenever we played it live.
 8. I have to say that the communications with Alex and Bobby have been first class. They kept me posted on what was happening. Yeah, the Big Twin 2 took a little longer than expected but, bugger me with the bell-end of a ragman's trumpet, it was well worth the wait. The thing is a monster!!
 9.
Does anyone here have experience of ordering a custom-made amp cover from this company? http://amplifiercoversonline.com They seem to produce covers to order for just about every kind of amp. Prices look ok-ish too.
Ahhh.. brilliant! Just had a look and ordered one for my new cab. I didn't know about these guys. Thanks for the heads-up.
 10. Many thanks for the info, BigRedX and waldflote8. I now know a bit more than I did yesterday. I shall investigate further!
 11.
Assigning different chords/sounds etc. to individual notes on the pedal is definitely doable, although how you go about it will depend on the MIDI capabilities of your foot pedals and those of the synth(s) or VST(s) that you are controlling with it. How familiar are you with deciphering MIDI implementation charts?
Sad to say it, mate, but I don't have a Scooby. I thought that maybe there was some gear out there I could buy which would sent an idiot's guide with it. It looks like I was somewhat optimistic. It would seem that there's a gap in the market for some sort of simple keyboard unit that can allow certain sounds to be controlled via foot pedals by n00bs like me. The quest continues..... Thanks for your input, chaps! :-)
 12. Aw yeah.... Big Twin 2 with Peavey Max 700
 13.
For long synth chords you need to be able to play chords which means having two maybe three (or more) feet...
5 years ago I was in a band which used midi foot pedals. Somehow the main man was able to assign certain chords and/or notes to certain pedals for certain songs in order to play them behind the rest of the music. I should have asked back then how it was done, but that was then. It is certainly doable, but I'm unsure how.
Hi, I had a similar quest and stuck an octave of bass pedals in a box (Moog Taurus sort of clone thing) along with a PC motherboard and MIDI scanner. The pedals and scanner generate MIDI which can be connected to a synth or back into the box to play soft synths on the PC. At some point I intend to improve the scanner to do various functions, single press chords etc. It's maybe easier to build one than play it, hats off to Geddy (and Alex) for their skills in that area
Yes indeed!
 14.
What sort of sounds? For basic keyboard synthy swirly stuff, I use the pedal synth on my Zoom B9. Anything more than that... I've enough trouble coordinating two hands, without adding feet into the equation as well.
Yeah, putting long synth chords and stuff behind the riffage. Nothing too fancy. Maybe being able to assign sound effects to various pedals too...
 15. Hi there, anyone know anything about getting some keyboard sounds out with yer feet? You know... like Geddy Lee does. Other than a midi foot controller, I have no idea about what else I would need to get started. Do they run through a keyboard unit, run off a laptop? I'm a complete and utter n00b on the matter but I'm interested in how to get going, so when you're all done pointing and laughing (understandably!), any information on where to start and what gear is needed would be gratefully received. Mucho thanks Rob
 16. Got mine on Friday. Unfortunately I haven't got a another gig til December. Can't wind the bastard up in my flat so I might have to gatecrash my mate's band rehearsal just so I can experience the lushness. I got a Peavey Max 700 amp, thinking about upgrading to something more modern, and possibly valved. Can anyone recommend a good amp to go with the Big Twin 2?
 17.
I know Steve! I rehearsed with him a few times for that Rush tribute that he's doing
So did I lol. It was great fun, but with the amount of work I've got going on I can't commit 10-12 hours a week to learning covers. Plus.... all that gear.. *shudders*... it sounds great when it's all working, but......
Our gig list on the website is usually up to date. When we remember we make Facebook event pages etc too.
Ah nice one, cheers bud. I'll try and catch the band soon!
 18.
A bunch of guys in silly shirts by the name of Fragile Sanity. We also do weddings!
Ahhhh... I have heard good things about you guys. I used to play in a band with a guy called Steve Gilbert who mentioned Fragile Sanity in glowing terms. Do you advertise your gigs anywhere? I'd like to check it out. Are you planning to move into wakes and barmitzvahs in the near future? That's where it's at!
 19.
Yes I was! Blimey, I had forgotten about that site. It was really good for a while.
Yes, it was great until Facebook killed it.... I'm glad I'm not the only person who never changed their username lol
God bless you sir Say, if you fancy a trip to Penzance tonight, I hear there's a good band at the Zero Lounge
Well thankyou, my good fellow. Unfortunately I'm already busy. What is the name of this good band, pray? I may have to check them out another time.
 20.
In an eighties hair metal band , if my memory is working. Possibly Poison ?
Well played, sir! You are indeed correct!
 21.
Dynargh! Where abouts in Cornwall are you?
I'm in Tuckingmill, just outside Camborne. Not quite the asshole of the universe, but sort of on the ringpiece!
Hello fellow Cornish bass person.
Hello there, sir! Crikey... weren't you on Amplifeye a few years back?
Welcome Odysseus, Are you playing DT stuff in a band? Just wondering. Cheers Leen.
I wish, mate. Shift work and lack of decent singers make that unlikely, unfortunately :-( Thanks for the welcome, folks! :-)
