  1. Just bought a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz bass off Mart. Great communication, and the bass was very well packed (I could have dropped it off my balcony and it would have been ok!) and just as advertised. A quick, easy and painless transaction - a pleasure to do business with. Many thanks!! Rob
  2. Greetings!
  3. Bass players do it deeper. Couple that with my finger technique and I'm a reg'lar Errol Flynn
  4. I was never a huge fan, but I went to a show about 20 years ago just for shits and giggles..... and gee-whizz, what a show. One of the best I've ever seen.
  5. That's pretty much what I was thinking. Genz it is. Thanks for your input, guys
  6. I'm in Cornwall, mate. Where men are men and sheep are nervous! I'll take it. Been after a Jap Ged for a while. A quick look at a pic to make sure would be cool though.
  7. I'm interested. Can you give me a price that includes postage please, mate?
  8. Hi guys and gals, I'm looking for a combo for smaller gigs. I've just been reading tobiewharton's thread about combos and the Genz Contour seems to get a lot of love. The other one I was looking at was the Roland Cube 120XL. I haven't heard any mention of the Roland, so I was just after a few opinions before I take the plunge. I play mainly rock 'n' roll in my current band, but a funk capability would be good too. Would I be right in thinking Genz is the way forward? Many thanks Rob
  9. Bloody hell, mate. That is fantastic! Mucho respect!

    New Bass!

    Nice lookin beastie!
  11. This is great! Very well played and put together, very well recorded... and I really like the dude's voice. Rap normally isn't my thing, but this isn't a normal rap track. Cracking work, guys!
  12. That's a bloody lovely bass...
  13. ^^^ Cheers bud.. Why doesn't the quote function work for me? *ponders*
  14. If you bought one of the Chinese Fender modern player jazz basses, you'd have change from £500. I just got one as a back-up for my Stingray. Bloody good for the price. I paid £379 for mine. Bargain. Seeing as I've already got one of them, I reckon I'd go for an 8-string, probably the ESP one on GAK....
  15. If your music is sh*te and you can't play, then dressing up is a way to push an image and appeal to the non-musos in an attempt to ponce a career out of it. Look at Poison.
  16. Ye Gods... the first bass I ever picked up was a Kay. Bloody awful, it was. You could pass a ham sandwich between the strings and the fretboard without disturbing the Branston. The second bass I ever picked up, an Encore Coaster, was a delight in comparison.
  17. My first was a Laney 100W 1x15 combo. Crap. Might has well have had a hamster farting in the corner for all the volume I got out of the useless piece of junk....
  18. This is most comfortable for me. I could never play it way down below my waist. Years ago I tried it right up high like early Billy Sheehan or the dude from Bobaflex, but it looked sh*t and it made my wrist on the picking hand hurt.
  19. Only ever broke a string once, and that when I was using superwounds and tried a mad bend on the G. Pinnnggg!!. Haven't used (or even seen) superwounds for years.....
  20. Got my ROQSOLID cover for my Big Twin 2. Perfect. Looks great in black with red piping, tough as old boots and fits like a glove. Money well spent!
  21. It's the Peavey Max 700. No valvage in this one. It's been a good servant for nearly 10 years but I'm considering an upgrade - the Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.2 is looking favourite at the moment. The Peavey weighs a ton!
  22. First outing for the beast last night at the First And Last Inn at Sennen. Sounded great!!
  23. Nice addition. I love my Stinger <3
  24. The Enemy Within by Rush always tickled my gonads whenever we played it live.
