  1. Normally yeah.... but you should've seen the place. Grim, even by my poor standards! 😄
  2. Respect to all those who did their first gigs later in life. I remember being nervous enough as a teenager, when I was full of testosterone and rash decisions. Taking the plunge in my 40s or so would've been a bigger ask for me personally!
  3. Just watched England ladies win the 6 nations Grand Slam. Now trying to tidy this dump up before my mate turns up for a beer session..
  4. Just out of idle curiosity. How old were you when you did your first gig? I mean a public venue or suchlike, not just in front of mum, dad, Uncle Dave and the cat. 19 At The Pirate in Falmouth with a cover band called Cut Loose.
  5. There's a BA55 JON round my neck of the woods. Dunno who it is tho...
  6. I've always fancied a go on a Warwick Thumb, and also a Strandberg headless.
  7. Nickname a mate gave me because I used to go to the Greek Islands a lot
  8. Ooh someone has uploaded a couple of full live sets... 😍
  9. Nice little set from The Warning...
  10. ^^^^ This. I always used em when I had a headless. No problems.
  11. Looks like a piece of junk. It's a no from me.
  12. I used a Dinger 5 string playing indie rock as well as metal. They are pretty versatile instruments!
  13. Hi there. Welcome! 😁
  14. Bong Jovi Actually, that may be an improvement....
  15. A few bands seem to be following in the footsteps of bands like Animals As Leaders with 8 string guitars. Mainly proggy metal type bands though..
  16. I was slightly hamstrung by the fact that none of my friends played instruments. It was only when I was able to drive, go and see bands, and meet like minded people that things opened up a bit more and the jamming started.
  17. Indeed. I'm sure others do too, but I would expect them to be in a minority. Personally, I was trying to learn guitar and get some technique going in my early to mid teens. I don't think I 'wrote' anything until about 17. I switched to bass at 19 and then out it all came!
  18. Kids learning to play well is a great thing. I wouldn't expect 'creativity' when really young. That would come later when they establish their own identity and what music their identity leads them to pursue.
  19. Yup. Plus they don't have to keep rewinding a cassette tape to try and nail the parts. Also there are more tools such as Guitar Pro etc. where you can mute other tracks, loop, speed train etc. I am grateful, however, that some kids are actually still learning to play instruments.
  20. As Frank Zappa was heard to say, "Shut up and play your guitar"
  21. Sacrilege, I know. But I really like this, so nerrr!!.... 😛
