Wow! I love that Maruszczyk 32" 5er! How's the low B on it? I don't suppose you have any recordings?
Low B is ace - no real difference in tone than my full size Fender - but there is def a drop in string tension across all strings in comparison which is to be expected really with the 2" shaved off. Not an issue at all, just find I need a lighter touch with the Maruszczyk. The Warwick actually feels higher string tension than the Maruszczyk and also has a sweet B, just prefer the thin neck, preamp and defo the looks of the Maruszczyk = custom-for-me-tastic so the W is now surplus to requirements. No recordings yet but I'll keep ya'll posted!
Hi all. Great thread! I have been looking into shorter scale basses myself lately. Can anyone suggest any (fender) jazz style 32" scale basses, available in the UK, that I could try? Cheers.
There's no real Jazz style medium options readily available but noticed the new Squier Gary Jarman sig is 32" which is a P/mustang frankenstein vibe (!) but at least you can try one for the feel...? http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars_detail.asp?stock=160128292809008&gclid=CKP5687c09ICFSEL0wodqR8Ncw
Out of interest is the body on these slightly smaller than a standard P or full sized?
Can't comment on the Jake but my Elwood is def slightly smaller body size than my Fender US Dlx J5 - frankly I would've liked it even smaller though.
Interesting idea, I guess it would only really work if there was a limited run 'Basschat' spec 32" scale bass?
Sooo... current owners get commission yeah?
Anyone tried a 5 string 32 bass? What's it like?
As a wee man and a 5 string man I've found medium is defo the best overall fit for me - currently have a custom Maruszczyk Elwood Absolution 5A 32" which is now my go to fiver, along with a Warwick Rockbass Corvette Basic 5 which is up for sale in the classifieds if anyone fancies a medium-sized dalliance with a 5th string...

**NOW £750** Or possible trade for medium scale 4-string ------- Team BC! I present to you a so-new-it-still-has-the-plastic-on-the-pickups-and-scratchplate-ooh-lawdy non-export Fender Aerodyne Jazz bass in a fetching Candy Apple Red, with zero scratches or dings in its travels with me from a Tokyo bass shop. It's an ace bass but the result of dreaded GAS when I was lucky enough to go to Tokyo at the end of last year, though I was really looking for a medium scale but when that search came up fruitless I turned my gaze to this slice of slickness... just I've now come to my post-GAS senses and realised it's not going to get much use in my current projects so here we are. - Specs: 20 fret / 34" long scale / basswood body with the unique carved top and cream binding / maple neck / rosewood board / passive PJ - - More Pics: https://www.dropbox....TxxXKxsxea?dl=0 It is as new as could possibly be, with the original as-new (but frankly, terrifyingly thin & flimsy!) Fender gig bag, plus a Fender strap and even the tags! Collection from SW London or we can meet at a mutually agreeable spot in the capital. Arigatou!

**Price Drop: [s]£500[/s]** **NOW £400** Hello there bass massive. Up for grabs is this fine medium scale active specimen in as-new condition having only been used as a back-up, and actually only used for rehearsals and home use so never actually gigged. It's mega slick to play with a surprisingly taut B-string, and a heads-up the neck is of the 'unfinished' variety with no matte varnish so a slightly different feel but very natural in more ways than one . Rockbass so made in China but build quality is great, just one tiny thing is one of the knobs is stuck on a little wonky (technical term) per the photo below but doesn't affect operation at all - just an alarm for my OCD crew (!) - and the "pearloid" markers are actually decals so easily removed. For sale only, specs and blurb below and photos up here: https://www.dropbox....suKI0o0_FT2ciza

Scale Length: 32" (Medium Scale)
Frets: 24 Extra High Jumbo Nickelsilver
Number Of Frets: 24
Fret Height: 1.3mm
Fret Width: 2.9mm
Nut: Just-A-Nut III
Hardware & Pickups

Pickups: Active MEC J/J Pickups
Electronics: Active 2-Way Electronics
Controls: 1 x Volume, 1 x Balance, 1 x Treble, 1 x Bass
Machine Heads: Warwick
Strap-Locks: Warwick Security Locks
Hardware: Chrome
Includes: Patented Easy Access Electronics Compartment
Moving this bad boy on after upgrading my pedal board to some more Impact-ful synth tones - very good condition just one tiny wee ding on the front face (where it it says '5- Filter') and it's lost a slight bit of the green colour on the front somehow, but nowt major, all gravy, and both per photos here - it's actually only been used a handful of times: https://www.dropbox....iVoWHeB1ma?dl=0 As you can see, the box is a bit tatty but structurally sound (!) so you'll get that and the manual too. Just seen one go on eBay for 70 quid (!!) but for my BC fam I'm looking at £50 delivered.
