Price drop - £20 posted
Cut for a StingRay, could also be used on a 2+2 head.
Have been on a bass with through body stringing, and put on/off a couple of times.
Amazing string, my favourite all rounder flatwound, not too old school, not too bright and clanky. Just that I prefer lighter gauges so now using Group IV.
Had just a few months of use.

There can be a few factors here. On one hand it could be as the Jazz is different to what you’re used to, or the set up or strings are different. I’m sure other folks will give views on factors.
But sometimes I’ve found it’s just the character of that particular bit of wood , so in some cases the same model of bass can sound different, so also noticeable when playing up the neck - I’ve experienced this before on guitars too.

Great bass. Can't get enough of my one, best sounding Stingray I've ever owned.
Totally get why you’d think that Paul - for a Ray they have a unique softness and mellowness to them, yet still sound like a Ray should and pack a punch if you want it.

If you’re willing to come to Harrow, I might be up for a trade or partial trade for another bass - please PM

Similar thing happened with a duff Custom Shop Fender P Bass my mate bought, it’s a shame some retailers don’t spot this.
Was obvious the neck was gone yet the shop didn’t spot, or give two hoots about, the cr*p set up and had absolutely no idea - and even needed to take it to a tech to work it out 🙄
Same shop later sold him another duff used Custom Shop Jazz with a messed up neck, they tried to bulls*it us that it was fine and ‘typical Fender’, but for the next few months it was off the website but still in the shop for sale - I know that as a guy I sold a CS Jazz to had tried it there and was also surprised they had it up for sale. Made my blood boil tbh. Anyway, they’re not trading anymore, but it’s a shame they didn’t get into learning how to set up basses or spot blatant issues.

Anyone else using flats on their Ray?
I recently strung mine with Cobalt's & I'm really enjoying it!
I have EB Group on my Smoothie, and EB Cobalt on my 2 band Ray, both 40-95 as I prefer the tone and feel of that gauge on Rays. Both strings are excellent, I probably just favour Groups as they are a more middle ground flat - not too modern, not too old school.
I have Thomastik on my P & J basses, but for me those strings didn’t suit me on any Ray.

It means eBay have the money in their bank account and make additional money via the interest over the duration they have people's money. How much hassle is it to transfer money from PayPal to your bank - takes two clicks, 2 mins tops. So not really a hassle.
I had a surprise message from eBay today after I ended a sale early (yesterday) as it was getting little interest. They sent me a bill for £19 for the item I ended early, no sale, I received no money. Another hidden eBay charge. This seems to be new as I've done this before on a couple of occasions, and was never changed, the last being fairly recently too. Naughty eBay!
That £19 charge is insane.
I was going to list a bass on eBay soon, but thanks to this thread those days are now over. Long live BC.

Am I correct in assuming that when you say 'tomato juice', that's a polite metaphor on a family-friendly forum?
Not sure, I haven’t been on Disneychat since the Donald Duck scandal...

Now discontinued, this is a US made reissue of a ‘57 P Bass pickup, with the raised A string pole pieces.
Bought in 2005, and installed in a bass since, so covers have signs of usage.
Here’s the info:
Fender Pickup 1957 Precision Bass Reissue, 19740
Raised pole piece at the A position
The electric bass starts with the Precision Bass. The bass pickup that invented "funk" is still virtually unchanged today with the 57 P-Bass pickup.
Made with Alnico 5 magnets and enamel coated magnet wire, this P-Bass pickup provides the humbucking punch and boom associated with the electric bass.
