  1. If you’re willing to come to Harrow, I might be up for a trade or partial trade for another bass - please PM
  2. Similar thing happened with a duff Custom Shop Fender P Bass my mate bought, it’s a shame some retailers don’t spot this. Was obvious the neck was gone yet the shop didn’t spot, or give two hoots about, the cr*p set up and had absolutely no idea - and even needed to take it to a tech to work it out 🙄 Same shop later sold him another duff used Custom Shop Jazz with a messed up neck, they tried to bulls*it us that it was fine and ‘typical Fender’, but for the next few months it was off the website but still in the shop for sale - I know that as a guy I sold a CS Jazz to had tried it there and was also surprised they had it up for sale. Made my blood boil tbh. Anyway, they’re not trading anymore, but it’s a shame they didn’t get into learning how to set up basses or spot blatant issues.
  3. Love my Old Smoothie, I reckon someone will be a very happy chappy / chapess 😊 Bump for a top fella and a gorgeous unique bass 👍
  4. I have EB Group on my Smoothie, and EB Cobalt on my 2 band Ray, both 40-95 as I prefer the tone and feel of that gauge on Rays. Both strings are excellent, I probably just favour Groups as they are a more middle ground flat - not too modern, not too old school. I have Thomastik on my P & J basses, but for me those strings didn’t suit me on any Ray.
  5. That £19 charge is insane. I was going to list a bass on eBay soon, but thanks to this thread those days are now over. Long live BC.
  6. Hats off to you, great collection 😍
  7. Click on your advert to edit, and look for the ‘click to choose files’ then click on it 👍
  8. Oh yeah, it’s 5 string twin, almost! Hope all’s well pal
  9. Not sure, I haven’t been on Disneychat since the Donald Duck scandal...
  10. Once poured tomato juice over a Spice Girls breasts in a hotel room. that’s all I have to say about that. 😂
  11. It’s been a treat meeting Dave - he responded to a wanted advert I put up and has been a star ever since, great comms, quick delivery, and a genuine pleasure to meet and now know. Can’t thank you enough pal 👍
  12. £40 posted Now discontinued, this is a US made reissue of a ‘57 P Bass pickup, with the raised A string pole pieces. Bought in 2005, and installed in a bass since, so covers have signs of usage. Here’s the info: Fender Pickup 1957 Precision Bass Reissue, 19740 Raised pole piece at the A position The electric bass starts with the Precision Bass. The bass pickup that invented "funk" is still virtually unchanged today with the 57 P-Bass pickup. Made with Alnico 5 magnets and enamel coated magnet wire, this P-Bass pickup provides the humbucking punch and boom associated with the electric bass.
  13. I’ve had a few of these, sound immense with the old pickup. The cases are so cute too. Nice 👍
  14. Yeah it’s nearly there, more closer to a 70s style clinical Jazz if anything. As my neck pup is further forward that the Special, and with the way it’s been wired, it actually turned out much like position 4 on a HH Ray.
  15. lol! I had it done in 2005... Active / passive - 2 way switch for MM pups Precision / MM split coil / MM normal - 3 way switch MM pups - 3 way selector switch. Then normal MM 2 band EQ and stacked vol/ tone for the Precision pup So it’s a little bit like a Ray, Precision, Jazz and Sabre all in one! ... hence why some of my basses are now fearing the exit... 😳 😂
  16. Bought back my old ‘95 Ray recently, so here’s a photo with its mates, a Special & Old Smoothie. Edit - now also pictured with the ‘95 restored to original.
  17. Cheers, that post made me smile too, too true 😁👍
