  1. This one is the closest comparison... 🤣
  2. Started the year with one bass. Then bought one back, got a couple more, and am now back on track oddly with a very similar set up to 2016... 🤔
  3. You’re not far off the truth, when I worked in a vintage specialist shop, just over a decade ago, the word was that the top US dealers met annually to discuss that year’s pricing.
  4. Watch out, my last set had a dead E string 😂😂😂 Sure you’ll be fine though 👍
  5. @dmccombe7 - given your experience I’d have a peek at these to see if they tick any boxes - D’Addario half wound https://www.daddario.com/products/guitar/bass-guitar/xl-half-rounds/enr71-half-rounds-bass-regular-light-45-100-long-scale/
  6. Gutted to hear that - I wasn’t aware of QC issues. But you do hear about it, even from other companies Shame you had that experience, my last sets were great. How did the other strings sound/feel? Not worth another try then from a different supplier?
  7. Worth the high landing cost then? Guess you sold them on?
  8. £40 collected I bought this new, just to put under a couch that our rabbits were exploring! So it’s never been used. Though it may no longer be needed as a recent bass purchase came with a new Hiscox - though tbh I don’t actually need that one either, but will see if this one sells. It was B-stock, so has a couple of cracks in the plastic (pictured) - though being in the corner it’s still structurally strong. Keys are present. Collection prefered, and seems more realistic tbh for a cheap case. Cheers
  9. I’ve been checking YT vids of the Lane Poor and it does sound better IMO too. I’d like a Legacy, but seems only Planet Bass sell them, and are sold out, but $250 might be a dealbreaker too ...
  10. Paid in full to Bass Direct. It was only ever going to be inevitable 🤗
  11. My luck was in then 😊 Cheers, John’s onto a good thing 👍
  12. I might as well just buy the Aguilar now then...why wait for the bass to arrive first? 🤣
  13. Hope you do manage to keep hold, it’s a beauty and one hell of a rescue makeover.
  14. Yup - I had a feeling I’d be spending an extra hundred-odd quid next week when the FB4 with Barts arrives! 👍
  15. Interested to know what you think about the pre’s? I imagine the Bart being more polite, and the Aguilar more ballsy?
  16. Good to know - and so very right you are 👍
  17. No plans at all just yet. But you know, we all make mistakes... like I sold you the Modulus 😤🤣
  18. Argh - I’ll give you first dibs if I ever move it on 👍
  19. It’s been a few weeks now since I got this 62. Settled with a set of Thomastik flats and been playing this one the most out of my basses. I’m constantly drawn to the resonance and tone - vintage and vibeing on the neck pup and super articulate and full with both on (I don’t/can’t do Jaco...so no solo’d bridge). And that neck.... 🥰 Seeing his for sale page blank makes me wonder how many he makes a year???
  20. Depends on what kind of Slapper you’re into - the Friday night bling type, or the deep down and dirty Saturday night groover 😁👍
  21. If you click on the custom blue Flea bass, there’s a low res pic. Seems like the Bart is missing the logo? https://web.archive.org/web/20060207085439/http://www.modulusguitars.com/v2/gallery/index.html The other basses seem to have the LP logo. This question @40hz has asked has always bugged me too, but it’s time to get on with my day and stop geeking out ... 🤓
  22. Argh:- right you are! 😁 Thats what you get for early morning pre-coffee browsing 😂
