Aw, now you’ve give and left us all on a cliffhanger! So what’s up? Is it... Option A - I’ve received £75 worth of gear for registering 2 basses and it’s because I’ve posted about it (as I thought others might want to know and do the same) Option B - Because I’ve registered my basses for extended warrantee Option C - because Music Man set up the scheme Have a good day Rodney.
-
No need to despair Rodney,... if a company actually wants to be nice to their customers then surely it should bring hope? I think it’s nice to see positives in the little things. YMMV

100%, they just aren't that special these days and always lean towards a modern bass. I've previously owned a fair few CS Basses, and what I'll say is when they are great, they are seriosuly-f'ing-great. That said, my last 'modern' Fender was a lovely 2015 USA Std, in no way an inferior bass - and priced much more sensibly.

Big thanks to Strings and Things (UK EBMM distributor) once again... A couple of months back I posted that they sent me a free EB tool kit when I registered my Old Smoothie online for extended warrantee (via the official EBMM website). . Today I received the free gift below for registering my Stingray Special

I did that in 2010 with 2 Sterlings I was deciding between - ended up with massive tone differences from how they originally were. The ash body and rosewood neck was an absolute Powerhouse, though that may just have been a 'special tree' combination thing rather than 'tone woods' thing...
-
+1 on positon 4. I've been enjoying the other positions too and find they come to life better in the mix rather then solo'd. And how nice are those necks?! 😛
-
if its late 70's / early 80's have you checked for a serial number sticker under the pickguard, or for the date of the pots, if original? Edit, just re-read the middle line!! I'd be scouring Google images / Gbase / Andy Baxter website if i were you.

Great to see you got the one you wanted, and that it's a good'n

Hopefully you'll have better luck against the Falcons, and with the Browns playing the Ravens you may just leapfrog them! My teams season is pretty much over already, what with Jimmy G's injury, then again were the 49'ers ever going to tear it up anyway... very much doubt it! Get well soon mate.

Well you've got to do something to cheer yourself up when the Steelers are sitting below THE BROWNS in their division!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I'll look forward to seeing pics, nice one 👍

Chiliwailer replied to Sibob's topic in General Discussion
It's my fault - I passed out from GAS withdrawal symptoms and my head came to rest on the 'page refresh' button all night. -

We could also chuck our car keys into a bowl and take home each other’s bass for a night or two. -

Ah man, this little anti-GAS circle is perfect, I can almost feel my shoulders relaxing already. I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s been great to have bought and sold loads of basses to check out and jam on, but sometimes a cycle needs a break...or dare I say it...an end -
I agree with Gaz above, especially regarding the updated EQ and lack of raspy tones. I’m kind of on the fence to be honest, though I think the Specials are excellent and much more refined I still love the attitude of my 2015 3 band EQ Stingray too. I couldn’t call either ‘better’ than the other. Ideally I’d have both, but only one can stay so it’s the Special as it’s lighter and is an HH. Edit - the Special can still do attitude, but there’s something more ‘punky’ about the old one that I still like. YMMV.

I’m with you, 100%. I would like the purchase of my Stingray Special to be my last bass related purchase for at least a year. I think I’ve used up my lifetime quota of basses to own I told my wife that I’d give £100 to charity if I buy anything in the next calendar year, she reminded me that giving £100 to charity may give me a ‘feel good’ factor that helps me justify it. So, I’ve had to add a weekend away for her too. -
Sold ***Price drop - £800 without any bag/case or £850 with the original hard case*** Collection is much preferred, due to issues getting it to the courier. Made in 2015, in excellent and very well looked after condition with no damage or issues etc. Comes with hard case, candy and an additional official black EBMM pick guard. Weight is 9.34lbs / 4.23kg It has a very full and resonant tone, acoustically and of course plugged in. It can do monster tones and mellow very nicely. The maple has a nice hint of flame on the head and neck. For those on mobile, I’m based in Harrow. Link to my feedback below, I’ve sold many a bass on this site.

If anyone is interested in how these are with flats, I've put some Chromes on and I doubt I'll be able to take them off now. Even with rounds I found all pickup positions very usable, but with the flats I've managed to make the neck pickup sound closer to a P Bass, whilst backing off the bass and treble a touch. Doesn't sound as P like as my Fender P, but it's passable and great in the mix. Great slap sound too with both pickups on. Very happy bunny

Nice one! I saw that bass’s twin there yesterday and had a little play, it was gorgeous. There is something so stylish and classic about a single H Ray, they look so much better. 👍
