1. Edit : Oh, price just went up No affiliation: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272623191526?ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com%252Frover%252F0%252Fe11021.m43.l1120%252F7%253Feuid%253Dde90a5eacbf345cc863946b8bb8efe56%2526bu%253D43110260578%2526loc%253Dhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.ebay.co.uk%25252Fulk%25252Fitm%25252F272623191526%2526sojTags%253Dbu%253Dbu%2526ul_ref%253Dhttp%2525253A%2525252F%2525252Frover.ebay.co.uk%2525252Frover%2525252F0%2525252F0%2525252F99%2525253Floc%2525253Dhttp%252525253A%252525252F%252525252Frover.ebay.com%252525252Frover%252525252F0%252525252Fe11021.m43.l1120%252525252F7%252525253Feuid%252525253Dde90a5eacbf345cc863946b8bb8efe56%2525252526bu%252525253D43110260578%2525252526loc%252525253Dhttp%25252525253A%25252525252F%25252525252Fwww.ebay.co.uk%25252525252Fulk%25252525252Fitm%25252525252F272623191526%2525252526sojTags%252525253Dbu%252525253Dbu%25252526rvr_id%2525253D0%2526srcrot%253De11021.m43.l1120%2526rvr_id%253D0&ul_noapp=true
 2. Just dusted off the old cobwebs Had 2 days off work and rustled up my first home recording in over 12 years, maybe more. It's the first on Cubase, which is way better than my old hard disk recorders! Where did all that time go? I loved that picture for this month, really resonated with me, so had it in mind when choosing sounds and vibes: https://soundcloud.com/user-382247502/space-invade-us (edit for edit!)
 3.
The bass might be 5 years old already rather than new, but it's also 5 years closer to being a desirable vintage instrument...
4. Great picture of your basses, look really good together. I'm in the +1 camp for variety, as long as it's not for variety sake of course. I reckon this was a thread worth posting
 5. Bizarrely, this time around I've added back my old 66P...
 6.
This is the bass I bought. I plan to keep it as it feels great and the specs on the site match the bass and the 2016 models. I have no malice against the shop I was just unsure of the usual time line. Thanks for the replies Ian https://www.wembleymusiccentre.com/fender-american-standard-precision-bass-3-tone-sunburst-maple-neck.html
I got my 2015 US Jazz from them last year, and a guitar amp once, nice guys every time I've been in. Just email or call fender uk if you're not sure, peace of mind and all that of you need it. Didn't they have it listed at £999? Great deal either way
 7. Good that you like it and are keeping it. I'd personally call Fender GBI with the serial number, just to check out if it was sold to the shop you bought it from. If it wasn't, then I'd be asking for a few quid back. Hopefully all is legit though.
 8. I've seen them go up the neck, but never that far before. Makes me wonder if the rod is actually in there? At that price, they may not actually know what they are doing anyway, or they are chancing it.
 9.
Yes, I too feel some envy for folk who are honestly happy with a single bass. What we don't know, of course, is if those lucky guys are active bassist or if they play simple lines in a band once a week, and never touch it from one week to the next.
There is that for sure. It also may be that they are active but have a bass that covers the styles they want, or that they are not looking to tick as many boxes as us? I know that'd I'd be very happy, and be well covered with just my Lull PJ4 and MM Sabre. But... my Jazz and vintage P are both stunners that I get enjoyment out of, so why not while I can?
 10.
Wow that centre one looks like new!!
Cheers, she's a beauty though in the flesh has a few marks and dings. Not at all bad for 51 years though! This is my second time round owning this bass, in between it's taken a couple of knocks that would have annoyed me if I did them. But I'm actually chuffed now as I don't have to be quite as precious with it as I was before
 11. Sometimes I wonder if bass life would be easier with just one bass. But then I realise I have 4 for a reason. Personally, I mostly pick up the one that I have a gut feeling for. Occasionally some basses just suit my mood that time, other times I pick up a bass and realise I'm not in the mood as much as I thought, so it isn't the basses fault. It helps though when you have basses that you know are excellent and very well suited to you, then you know it just isn't your night to play.
 12.
I'm tempted to swap out the pickup, but it's fine for the moment.
mmm.. Lindy Fralin...
 13. These are always worth a look for a big sound and lots of bite http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1970s-PAF-Dimarzio-Precision-Bass-Pickups-/322466278754?hash=item4b147ced62:g:SasAAOSwol5Y2soP (Edit, may be 80's not 70's but still the same from my experience of having a few in the past).
 14. If I buy 3 of your wonderful basses can I get 1 free? Bump for a top seller, and a fine gentleman with exquisite taste in basses.
 15. Looks just like mine, when these are good they are GREAT. It easily stands up to anything I've ever owned. GLWTS
 16.
I'm on a similar path as yourself right now, except I'm being even fussier, I want a vintage 60s style P neck, wide and shallow, but with a compound radius, a modern bridge, modern/better access to the higher frets, as well as a vintage sound, in a rather fetching Sunderland AFC red! I promise I'm not too demanding! 😂 My search has taken me to custom built for sure!
Just realised that we have the same bass in our avatars, I remember our previous chat about it
My old Lull P4 had a great neck, wide 60's style nut with a gorgeous shallow depth so to my taste was easily the nicest wide nut bass I've owned. Plus Lull's have the high end access and modern bridge. Only sold it to get a PJ4, but that's in blooming Chelsea blue rather than Gooner red.

 19.
Don't ask me why, or what proof I have, for there is none.
Exhibit A... the Fender Nocaster
 20.
Did indeed, I had bought it on here from Si - 0353203 We could have met up and cut out the middleman!
True! The middle man for me via Andy Baxter was my good pal Mark. Nice that I can now trace this back to Si, who I presume imported it from the US. Well, it ain't going anywhere now Cheers pal
 21.
I was the previous owner of that '66P - funny old game!
And you're right around the corner from me! Did you sell it via Andy Baxter?
 22. Cosmic....or....coincidence? I just bought this bass back, 2 years after I foolishly sold it. It's a 66 P Bass. For the past 6-8 weeks I thought about this bass non stop, even talking to mates about it and teasing myself with old pictures of it. I've had many 50-60's Fender basses, this is the only one I REALLY wanted back. Then on Sunday, I see it listed for sale here on BC. The rest is history, and here it is now in my home, to stay.... 23. Andy doesn't just sell basses, he sells smiles.... I haven't stop grinning since I left his house 48.hours ago, after buying a bass from him. Bump for a great guy and honest seller
 24.
PM'd 😀
Lol A return visit on the cards eh? I saw this yesterday when over at Andy's, it's a real stunner. Bump for a top man / top seller.
