I dunno if starting this thread was a good thing, you guys have some really nice basses and I'm envious.
My Lytes - recently sold the red one. All 50th Anniversary / chrome models, with very close serial numbers coincidentally. I know, such a tease..........
Surely you don't need two of the same mate? I'm just thinking about it logically, the way all us musicians do
I have a tobacco burst '95 which I bought as one of the last from fender. It's a real beaut! Chrome hardware and 50 sticker. Non matching headstock. Every time I take it out to gig, it's pretty likely that someone will ask to buy it! It ain't going anywhere!
I wont ask what I was about to then

Thanks guys, they really are lovely basses. Ideally I would like a darker sunburst with the chrome hardware, other than that I'm not too fussy
-
Is it just the 50th Anniversary model that came with chrome/silver hardware? I've got GAS for a sunburst P-Lyte but really don't like the gold hardware so just trying to weigh up my options. Thanks, Tom.

I met up with Nick and bought a Bag End cab from him, he's a top bloke and I'd be happy to deal with him again. Cheers Nick, love the cab.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mike and selling him a bass, he's a really decent guy and I would be happy to deal with him again. Cheers Mike.
Bag End S15-D very nicely voiced all rounder - small but a bit of a lump by modern standards.
Same for me, no plans to change - it's the best cab I've had.

Slipknot and Suicidal Tendencies in a couple of weeks in Leeds.

Sounded great, really enjoyed it. -
Whats the hardest bassline you've ever played?
Same here. I rarely play the same thing twice. Can't stand it.
Me neither, its much more than that. -
Just bought a Boss TU3 tuner from Tariq, he is a very nice fella and sorted everything out really quickly. Highly recommended. Cheers, Tom.

One of the best looking basses I have seen, without doubt.

No bids on it. how odd...

Just bought a pedal from Alex - he is a very helpful, pleasant and honest guy and the whole transaction could not have been easier. Thanks very much.

I have had my PF500 for about a year - it has given me no bother at all and is a great little amp so far; I love the sound of it. But yeah I have read the horror stories too and I have to say that it does weigh on my mind a bit when using it at gigs and this isn't ideal. We rely so much on our equipment and I don't have complete faith in my amp which does detract from my enjoyment of it a bit. I hadn't read the bad press when I bought it (wish I hadn't since) but I think if I had I would have chosen something else (GK MB500 most likely).

Also try not to tune to D# when the rest of the band are in D, it sounds awful - oops!
-
That takes me back - great album and great live band too. Thanks for jogging my memory.

We played at the Racing Rocks festival at the Rockingham Speedway, an outdoor gig and the weather was just beautiful. We played a good set to a really good crowd and then got to enjoy the other bands and the motor racing afterwards. To top it off I wasn't driving so I could sample the splendid selection of beers and ciders. All in all it was a perfect day - one to remember for sure.

I have been using the S15-D for years now and I really like it; nice clear sound but lacks the really low bottom end as the frequency range doesn't go quite as low as some cabs (as far as I am aware). Having said that its not an issue for me to dial in some bottom end on the amp and it sounds deep and clear - to my ears anyway. I have been after an S-12 or S-10 to run with it for a while now but can't find one for a decent price, I am prepared to wait as I like Bag End and want to stick with them. Bass Gear had the D12-D until recently but looks like its gone now, they also have a 410 cab in at a good price which has got my interest but I have a feeling it will be too heavy and bulky for my liking.

Pearl Jam, Booker T and the MG's, RATM. Erm, yeah...
The Fender Modern Player Jazz would work. Not active, but has two chunky humbuckers with coil switches (loads of tones) and obviously a nice Jazz neck. +1 to that. They run at about £400 off the peg.
Anyone see the Super Bowl halftime show last night?
IIRC there was also some all-girl (Australian?) band as openers too. They seemed to get a bit miffed when they weren't being showered with adoration by all and sundry. Considering I'd seen plenty of pub bands making a better fist of it I was tending to side with the rest of the audience.
I think they were called Chicks on Speed, and they were sh*te. I recall Frusciante telling the crowd off for not being 'open minded' enough about them. Rest of the gig - James Brown and Chili's was quality though, this was at Man City's stadium around 2003/4 I think. -
My Dad is well thanks Keith and all is fine with me. Hope you are ok and all this nice feedback isn't going to your head!

I know Keith as he has been a friend of my Dad for years, top bloke and bass player.
