  1. I have one of those, picked it up a few years ago. I wouldn’t swap it for a Rick.
  2. Also found another US manufacturer that does one, Stonewall. https://www.stonewallpickups.com/store?store-page=Alternate-Dimension-Wide-Range-Bass-Humbucker-p372203020
  3. Thanks for the link, I’ve been browsing those and added them to my list.
  4. Yeah Curtis Novak makes great pickups but at a price!
  5. Really nice, that maple and the lacquer checking looks perfect together! 😎
  6. Can you all stop listing things for sale I want to buy.
    Thank you.

I'm lucky (currently). Not a lot that I want in the marketplace.

  7. Loving that. Very similar to some ideas floating around in my head for the last couple of months! Also glad to see someone not afraid of doing mods to suit you and not about resale values 😎
  8. Is the neck and fretboard one piece? Have you got the heel measurements and also the nut width please?
  9. 2 statements. I haven’t played a gig in the last 20 years. I didn’t ever play a gig with a pedal. Bass - lead -amp.
  10. Any sound clips? I’m after something grainy/growly almost fuzz but not. Hard to put into words.
  11. She Is Hiding Behind The Shed - Cardiacs
  12. Any recommendations for a replacement one of these? Think Fender Telecaster more than Gibson Ebo mudbucker. Recently been listening to a band and the bass player used, I guess, an original 70s Tele bass. Love the almost fuzzy sound. I’ve seen a few original pickups for sale but I’m not about to drop £4-500 on an old pickup. So, anyone come across a modern manufacturer making a decent copy - not just a similarly shaped pickup?
  13. Purely from a personal sales/buying perspective it has killed the market in many hobbies. From here to guitars to watches, classic cars and parts, literally everything has had the same catastrophic result. Europeans don’t want or need the added hassle or expense, it’s simpler to buy from the US as that has an established well practiced customs route. I’m not even sure the U.K. Hmrc has coded and published their updated rates. A major classic car importer I know is still waiting for confirmation on what rates purchasers are meant to be paying on imports, so they have been using the pre brexit rates for the US but for EU countries and hoping for the best, and this is how many years after we “left” ? It’s been an utter failure.
  14. I like the fret markers too, are they brass ring inserts?
  15. Went over to see these strings. Couldn’t make out the coating anywhere. No hologram sticker and the ball ends were a different profile to the Elixirs I have. Also the silk end was cut after the string starts to taper but didn’t have an exposed core like my other Elixirs. In fact looking into the cut end it was hard to see any core. The seller wasn’t upset by it but more surprised as they’d purchased the strings from the same shop in Cardiff they’d bought their Elixirs from for years. I decided it wasn’t worth the risk.
  16. Using the zoom on the phone I think I can see where the webbing starts on my 5 string set.
  17. Hmmmm the sellers messaged me to say the sticker isn’t a hologram. Is that confirmation they are fakes? Were the stickers always holograms? Just had a look at an unused 5 string set I bought from here years ago and haven’t got around to fitting and it has the older packaging before the stickers. Looking at the strings I can’t see the nano web either.
