Blind In Safety And Leafy In Love - Cardiacs

Yeah some proper strange stuff. Technical assault vests for cats I had earlier today.

Any takers?

I’m probably of the same opinion, I like all kinds of music inc. rock, heavy rock, metal, prog etc. I do like stuff with odd time signatures and lots of time changes and yet I just can’t listen to Rush or appreciate it. I haven’t tried very hard but have listened to the odd song here and there over the years. While I can appreciate Geddys clearly a very talented player it leaves me cold. The squealy shrieking vocals about wizards and hairy goblins also do nothing for me 😄

I have the link to it if anyone wants it 😄 That’s an interesting one, are the pickups stock? -
Similar story, I had 2 lovely basses for 15-20 years. Then happened to come across this place. Within a year or two I was up to double figures…… I went from only active “modern” at the time, Warwicks and Wals to now loving some Precision basses which back then I wouldn’t give the time of day to.

Isn’t this the same lie we all tell ourselves.

Yeah especially the bbc one, they really seemed to be enjoying it and interacting with the crowd.

The gold one is very Serek’y looking, bet it sounds lovely. Really like the mosaic finish on the other one too. Is that painted or paper then lacquered?

£6500 plus duty and fees it must be good.

According to the blurb it’s a sprightly 3.92 kg’s… and with 4” off the neck it might balance ….. then again 😄 -

Looks like I’ll be rejoining the Short Scale club again, new (to me) shorty bass inbound. Looks an interesting thing too, never see one before. Details to follow 🙂 -
I like that. Cool Neck and have a growing thing for non stock pickups on fender basses. How does the tbird pickup compare to other brands similar ones?

Bought some bargain pickups from Kevin, no hassle and prompt postage. Thanks Kevin I’ll keep the tradition alive and bury them in my spares stash immediately 😄

Blur had loads of exposure on BBC last night. An intimate recent-ish gig from BBC Radio Theatre, a Glastonbury set from 2009(?) and then some of their appearances on Top Of The Pops. I’ve always liked Blur, not up there as a favourite band, bought maybe 2 of their albums, but they did have some great pop songs. Apart from a few major fluffs from Alex James on the recent gig, I’d forgotten or maybe never noticed how good a player and his bass lines are. Very melodic, driving and not as simple as I’d thought. The Glastonbury gig especially, everything was played at a faster tempo than the recordings and he seemed so relaxed flying through them. Another one for the underrated players list. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001p94b/blur-at-the-bbc

I think I’ve spoken with Andre on Facebook a few times in the past. Always very helpful and informative. I will at some point place an order @Andre_Passini 😄 just waiting for the right project pieces to fall into my lap.
