    Do you not need to use a (I forget the term) carnet-something-or-other now when travelling abroad with instruments? Ive considered several swaps in Europe but it just seems too much hassle/red tape/extra costs now. Thanks Nigel!

    Can you provide a photo of the break from the side please to show how far along the fretboard the join is relative to the frets? Is the truss rod the removable type?

    Similarly to the suggestion above, a photo of the body wood, possibly edited in photoshop to look like the body and inserted under the clear cover.

    You could paint the under side of the Perspex or stick some vinyl cut appropriately to cover the cavity. The clear really works well with the bass itself.

    Thanks @BabyBlueSound With that said, why do we need short scale specific sets and not just cut down standard length strings? When I was looking at SS string sets a while ago I noticed they were often a significant price jump up compared to their long scale versions.

    Is the Starstream short scale and have you cut down standard length Elixirs for it? No issues ?

    Replacements I’ve seen are £40 upwards and it may be temporary if it doesn’t look right hence the cheaper alternative. I’ve got an anodised gold guard and quite like the wear that’s on it.

    I want to change the colour of a pickguard. Has anyone had much luck spray painting or using some kind of vinyl - like they wrap cars in?

    Gary Numan on his anniversary tour of Pleasure Prinicipal. Good show, way more animated than he was in the 80s. Sound wasn’t great it was all a bit muffled. Smallish venue and it was absolutely rammed. It’s strange seeing 60 odd year old blokes scrapping and getting wrestled out by 5 bouncers 😄 It was the first act I’ve ever seen walk on, not a say a word before, during or after their set. Performed for about an hour and a half and left. No support bands.
