Never! So it’s gone from South Wales to Northern Ireland to then come back to England in a couple of months. Small world !

An orange Bongo in a local shop window caught my eye last year (or has been not sure if they still have it, price has been reducing). It’s a 2004

New bridge design... solving a bridge problem that doesn't exist!
Dazed replied to warwickhunt's topic in General Discussion
Ok, so after a quick google he patented the design in 2008, it’s now 2022. Looks like it didn’t catch on. Haven’t ever seen a bass (other than yours or his) using one of these, maybe that’s a sign..... Resorting to silly insults really will not help this thread, the bridge concept or your business. -

Yeah I was regular visitor there. Great small venue with a rich history and glad to see they are still thriving and growing. Can’t say I recall the person you’re describing I’m afraid. Have you tried contacting the venue. I think they have good archives of previous artists.

Is this finish from the factory?? Haven’t seen this before.

What a story and thanks for sharing it in all its gory details. Stroke of luck that Mica and Alembic value their customers enough to have the information to hand and want to assist. I can’t imagine many manufacturers would have a clue or bother getting involved. Glad it all worked out eventually! -

I wish I’d bought a Heartfield a few years ago, they were cheap as chips in Europe for a while. Six strings were out of fashion I guess. Looked like really well made and specc’ed basses.

Always remember Westones from my childhood and them being in most of the mail order catalogs - which is where my 1st bass came from, thank you Mum and Dad 😂. Unfortunately not a Westone but some short scale thing with terrible pickups. Then an older boy at school played a school concert with his Westone, which at the time blew me away as he was so good. I never really rated them back then because of where I thought they came from. Obviously I was young and wrong as they do seem popular now whereas whatever it was I had has long disappeared, and probably for the best 😂
-
Don’t get me wrong I know pickups will sound slightly different especially if heard solo’d and trying to analyse the tiniest of variation but in reality, behind a band, probably barely noticeable. A fretless jazz bass is a close approximation. Add epoxy to the board and you’re pretty much there. Wasn’t a fair part of the Jaco sound down to his back line too? If it’s all for sh*ts and giggles what does any of this matter 😄
-
How much difference can there really be in a pair of single coil jazz pickups? The provenance and origins of which make the “USP” and marketing for a more expensive than normal set of pickups. Truth is Jaco would sound like Jaco whatever he played, very few others will. Would anyone else notice?

Is the body standard sized @molan? Just a shorter neck? Great dark fretboard, almost black!

No doubt a talented player and social media click bait artist. Can’t stand it.

I’d definitely be looking for an older version. The cost of new Warwicks, especially custom shops is horrific! They do pop up frequently even mid-late 80s models.

Made in Japan Jedson Jazz Bass 1973-74 - *SOLD*

Congrats on your purchase! Nice looking basses. Give the bass a check over regarding the low B string. Make sure it’s seated correctly in the nut and bridge saddle. Maybe try rewinding it. Check the pickup height too. Hopefully it isn’t an issue with the bass itself.

If I remember @Henrythe8 had a custom from Stradi.
