  1. Yahama have a vibration process for their high end stuff to reproduce the effect caused by many years of use which may or may not enhance the properties of wood tonality. Must be something to it if they are prepared to invest large sums of money.
  2. Limelight. No worries about the odd nick or scuff. Lovely and worn in. Can’t explain what it is but to me they just feel right.
  3. It could well be. Have a terrible habit of hunting stuff down, finding it then not buying it, feeling like it’s mine and safe. Some of those in the list were for sale for over 12 months without a buyer and not necessarily because of a high price but in obscure little shops. Always followed by that stomach turning sick feeling when someone else had discovered and bought it. I think I’ve realised it’s the chase that's the thrill and quite often I’ve lost interest when the purchase arrives.
  4. Thinking about this, been playing and buying selling basses since a teenager and now an awful lot older, I can’t feel regret about anything I’ve let go of. I can remember feeling like I didn’t want to sell at the time but looking back now any post sale remorse has long gone. I have more regrets about ones I didn’t buy, mostly not common or easy to find things that at the time I wonder if I really need and spend a long time mulling over as the things get sold 😂 Several Warwick’s, mostly Dolphin Pro 1’s couple of Basslabs Turner Renaissance 5 Rob Allen Deep 5 - impossible logistics a fantastic Carl Thompson Rainbow 6 string replica Several 90’s string basses a Bee Bass a couple of Callowhills and a few others including a ridiculously cheap Ampeg B15. Funny how I remember these but struggle to recall all the ones I’ve bought and sold.
  5. Limelight’s are great things. Converted me from lifelong “fender type” apathy.
  6. Double check the Gallery still have that bass in stock before parting with this. Their website is often not up to date..

Who does do a good 5 string split coil p pickup?
  8. Plane Plane Against The Grain - Cardiacs
  9. Happy hunting! Apart from the Thundercat 6 string which I do like, I didn’t see much that was of interest in there. I was amazed how many different production models there are!
  10. Here’s a link to the new range https://issuu.com/ibanezgermany/docs/2022_ibanez_fullline_germany which was posted in this thread recently
  11. May consider trades for something unusual- headless or 5 & 6 strings. Drop me a PM.
  12. Some are less Jetsons than others. Building non traditional shapes is a good thing in a world of fender clones.
  13. Seen the IG page but other than that I don’t know anything about them.
  14. On paper those EHB’s are right up my street, headless, 5 & 6 string models, non fender traditional shape bodies and I’m not opposed to multi scales. They just don’t do it for me though, don’t like the shape, the colours or coffee table tops and I do appreciate natural woods. The hunt continues.....
  15. Good grief @Sarah5string 😂 I just looked at your profile and if that’s your d.o.b. you have no worries about being old! Now I feel old 😄😑... I already did but now
  16. These are great basses and fantastic vfm. Of the four musicmans I’ve owned, the Sub was my preferred one although it was a 4 string, which I also removed the finish from the neck - big improvement! GLWTS
  17. Same about @discreet seemed a nice fella and funny with it. @PunkPonyPrincess is still here, recently posted an ACG up in For Sale.
