  1. EBay and Reverb are full of listings with optimistic pricing that are constantly relisted year after year. I don’t understand it.
  2. Depends which Warwick the neck was made for. They aren’t generally interchangeable. Would be helpful to know what model the neck is for.
  3. As Cold As Can Be In An English Sea - Cardiacs
  4. What’s the fender connection? Ahh sellers other listings. I’d guess it’s had the just-a-nut 1 fitted at a later date as it looks quite worn but the serial number stamp dates it as a 2000 year build. Replacement Warwick necks aren’t easy or cheap to get a hold thats for sure.
  5. Like the look of those and great to see at least some deviation and progression of yet another Fender clone. The pickup sounds interesting, same idea as the Sims Quad Coil Pickups?
  6. Heaven Born And Ever Bright - Cardiacs
  7. Good choice using darker woods for the neck. Looks great!
  8. The Everso Closely Guarded Line - Cardiacs
  9. Open to offers on this... you never know.......but this could be a bit of a bargain

Welcome Dave. There’s so much choice now it’s a bit overwhelming. Of the basses you mentioned, have you tried either of them or is it based on reviews etc? It always helps to try as many different ones as you can. I’d suggest trying one of Yamaha’s many models over the years, you rarely get a bad one of those.
  11. My experience was the opposite. Back in the 90s I used 30-90 sets all the time. Liked the feel but definitely felt they lacked oomph or heft. Wasn’t until probably 10 years ago I started using more mid gauge set 40-105 etc. Even have flats and tapewounds on some basses now.
  12. Not until now. I like it! All looks very professionally done. Same seller has a similarly modified Jazz listed for sale too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224690893719
  13. Goodbye Grace - Cardiacs
  14. Hello Mr Sparrow - Cardiacs
  15. Jogging- Richard Dawson
  16. Thanks for that @dyerseve you are correct, they are passive Bartolini's and these are incredible basses!
  17. Walking On The Moon - The Police
  18. Now relisted with correct photos. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224730141637
  19. Red Fire Coming Out From His Gills - Cardiacs
  20. Nine inch nails ?
  21. Regarding Michael Manring, and I forgot to include this in my original post, I believe he often uses piccolo strings - lighter gauges interact better with an eBow.
  22. Was it that good? 😕
  23. Home Of Fadeless Splendour - Cardiacs
  24. Look for Michael Manring on YouTube etc. He’s used eBows very effectively.
  25. Wood n Tronics do a movable pickup in a ramp type housing, shifts via a knob on the edge of the bass. Neatest version I’ve seen.
