  1. Weight saving feature? I like it. There I said it 😂
  2. I’m amazed if I’m the first to post anything about this but..... I love this new signature model. The looks, sound, style. What are the chances it will go into production? This has definitely thrown a spanner into the workings of my future purchase plans!
  3. Rhetorical question? 😂 Worry not, you are in good company!
  4. Thanks brilliant! Apologies for asking something obvious now!
  5. Just throwing something around in my head here. Is it possible to change the “key” ie clover shape etc for another hipshot “key” also would the same be true for interchanging between an ultralight key and a standard key - so if I had a set of ultralights can I just replace the “key” part from a non ultralight set? this is is a duplicate post - also posted in technical as it fits either, so depending where gets replies I’ll delete the other thread - unless admin beats me to it 🙂
  6. Thank you for the totally unbiased recommendation 😜 is the volume affected by swapping coils / series / parallel etc on those ?
  7. Yeah they don’t plummet as much as a fender might.
  8. It was a surprise to me to say the least! I do completely understand your predicament though. Do you know anyone in Germany that could check it over for you? Ask the seller to post dated pics to you personalised so you can get proof it actually exists? Ask for feedback references from other sites, Facebook possibly, other bass forums etc? I did complete one transaction using google translate with another German seller who wouldn’t ship internationally - we arranged to send the bass to a German friend, they checked it over and sent it on to me.
  9. What’s the Delano DJC? if the body of this was Boire it would be the weight of a small planet 😂
  10. I’ve bought a couple of basses from ebay.de and Kleinanzeigen over the years. Never had a problem with either transaction in fact one was unbelievable. The seller insisted on shipping it to me before any payment. He only had a padded case so I arranged for a SKB bass safe - found used but as new , cheap on German Amazon and using Prime had it sent free to the seller in Germany. He then packed the bass in gig bag in the SKB and then into its packaging box and sent to me in the U.K. at his cost He wouldn’t accept any payment until I'd had the bass a week and was completely happy with it. Talk about trusting and it wasn’t a cheap bass £1200 ish if I recall.
  11. Yeah very much agreed. There’s much more to his playing than just the slapping. Very melodic player, I love lots of little harmonic fills and runs he’s played over the years.
  12. Didn’t realise these were so light. Nice 😎
  13. Even better value second hand - although the original owners seem to abuse them heavily 😜

  15. Everything within the bass from material choice to construction methods to player technique affects the resulting tone. As has been stated above try the strings on both basses and see what your ear tells you.
  16. Probably equates to £2k once they land here. Wonder if they’ll all have the relic finish......
  17. They’ve just released two new models at NAMM I think. Janek has been plugging them both regularly, not sure if they’re both signature models? The triple p pickup one and the 5 string singlecut he’s been using for a while in his videos.
  18. Hi I could be interested in this. How many pots does this have and is there a push pull active / passive pot? do you have a shot of it? thanks
  19. Glad I got my sunburst Limelight all those years ago then *smug grin* 😂
  20. Owned one for a while. Rubbed the neck down to natural and oiled it, much better for me. Much preferred the sub over the Stingray I had. Great value basses.
  21. Thanks Steve. Something i forgot, do these play well with active basses?
  22. If you had the choice - would you go with an old unknown history B15 or a PF20/PF50? I’ve read many reviews of both and still here I am asking for more opinions 😂 My intended use is for home only so huge volumes aren’t a concern - can a B15 operate to its best at neighbour friendly volume?
  23. My biggest miss was at the beginning of the year. An all original early 60’s working Ampeg B15. On ebay for £800 buy it now! I made first contact with the seller, genuine chap selling it as he’d not used it for years and had it stored in his loft. How he got it up there is another thing 😂 I coincidentally was travelling to london the day after too. While i was chatting to the seller to check it out some one hit the buy it now button. Gutted. I imagine it’s been peddled out for £2500+ by Andy Baxter now......
  24. A Rick Turner would be my weapon of choice. No acoustic value, but looks the part, doesn’t have the fat uncomfortable body and they sound amazing. Second hand should be in your budget but might take a while for one to pop up. If you do go acoustic you’ll possibly go through the ring of string choices. From my experience don’t fall for the Phospher Bronze acoustic strings! Scratchy noisy things. Much preferred flats and tape wounds but that’s only my opinion.
