  1. Yeah that's the issue I think I'm going to have. I wonder if I'm better looking at pedal.
  2. Yes it'll be for use at home, purely for my own enjoyment at neighbour friendly volume levels. I don't have a budget as such. From what I've read and heard (online) a lot of valve amps sound at their best when they're pushed fairly hard at the output end. If such a thing existed to achieve that tone but at living room volume and all the way up to on stage without changing the tone I'd be happy to pay for that. Say a B15, if I could that to perform at low volumes I'd probably get one, but I'd don't think it's achievable. I'm happy to be proved wrong though! Thanks for the WEM info. I've seen a few on EBay and like you say they can be picked up at reasonable prices. How are they at low volumes?
  3. How's the CTM15 working out ?
  4. Have you checked the pickup heights on them? Could be some tweaking to do there. Are they all passive ?
  5. I have 4 and 5 strings, fretted and fretless. Previously owned a 6 and have a hankering for another. I have for the past year equally and consistently played none
  6. Speak for yourself Dad now, welcome Raeman
  7. How did you come to buy the bass? Was it advertised somewhere? Wasn't it advertised as a Wal?
  8. Would it affect the value much if it was cracked? Genuine question as I don't know about these things. I guess you have to decide how concerned you are with that, if you are ever planning to sell? I get that it's all original and that is cool! Have you had it long and has it shrunk much while in your ownership? I think if it was mine I'd go for the Spitfire now and preserve the original. It could always be swapped out for special occasions Out of interest, is there any way to check the date of a pick guard ?
  9. It's hard to say, depends on your precision have a a look at this in the Warwick site. It might be helpful, but these are the current specs that can be requested, not older versions. http://www.warwick.de/en/Warwick---Products--Instruments--Customshop---Masterbuilt--Options--Neck--Neck-profile.html#D0242328001364908909A61
  10. Other things to consider are the year of build. Warwick neck profiles have considerable changes over the years! Generally pre 1992 were slim in depth, nut width depends on the model. Between '92 and '98 was a mix of all sorts. From '98 until 2009 were the fat years!! Some really dislike these and are often referred to as baseball bats. Post '09 the slim profile became the standard again and are much more consistent due to modern construction techniques.
  11. I know what you mean. It's hard to judge on videos and sounds clips. It seems you need to try a few different types before you decide. Although if you buy a used one and aren't happy you should be able to sell it for the same. To be honest you could get two identical models of any bass and you'll probably find they sound / feel slightly different! Good luck on your quest!
  12. The preamp and pickups are the same on Jazzman models. They both use the MEC BECIII-2 3way electronics. The difference is the body either Streamer or FNA/Corvette shape. The choice is down to personal preference really.
  13. You have some explaining to do young man. Where do you think you have been til now?? No leaving BassChat!!
  14. Are the side markers where the frets would be or in between like a fretted?
  15. Another timeless classic excuse from every bass hoarders essential book Reasons For Another Bass. It's ok this is a safe zone. Nice work
  16. Oh @ped calling ped...... handy this innit
  17. If you do a search there's a few threads listed. The new search seems much better ? Here's one to start you off
  18. @bagsieblue Your edits gone a bit wonky
  19. Looks perfect now. Brilliant. Thanks
  20. Yeah just mobile.
  21. @charic Any news on this ? It also doesn't display any pics on threads, which for a pic driven GAS whore like me is getting painful! help me out I'm doin cold turkey here!
  22. The PJB Doublefour is probably as small as you'll get. Only 75 watts. It's tiny, like a shoebox! I like mine but only use it at home and it's the easiest thing to take anywhere. I think @ambient was using one, worth asking his opinion if he was gigging with it. I had a Markbass CMD121p for a while. Again small for its volume and not heavy.
  23. It's all choice I suppose. There's only so many colours. I like some but not all exotic wood basses. Not too keen on capped top basses, I don't know why but they seem fake to me, which is strange as I like " relic" basses. Same as most things in the modern world, give people more choice to spend more money.
  24. @PaulWarning @discreet Should be in the options button at the base of the post window , to the right of Quote and Edit. Click Options then Hide appears. It does for me. Am I special
