  1. Warwicks aren't 35" they're 34". That said, if it doesn't feel comfortable nothing's going to change that fact.
  2. They had been playing In My Time Of Dying for many years live.
  3. Over at Bass Direct. Now I can't see that being available for very long....
  4. There were only boire bodied Bart loaded 5 strings made. Warwick didn't do a later run with MEC pickups like they did with the 4 strings. I'm tempted but I think the price is optimistic and I'm a big dolphin fan. Broad necks can be marmite for some too. The sound is very different between the two as well, but who knows whether that's down to the woods used or the electronics, probably both. Still it is a rare beast, and one of Warwicks finest
  5. The double battery box is usually for LEDs.
  6. PJB gear is very good quality and transparent sounding. Debatable if the Double 4 (75w) or Cub (100w) would have the volume to compete with a guitar amp or drums. I have a Double 4 and it is surprisingly loud for the size, it's stupidly small. Sounds great too. Not the cheapest of options though but suits me for home use perfectly...... At the moment
  7. My acoustic came with rounds on it. I tried the "made for acoustic " bronze strings but found them far too noisy and scratchy. Have had a set of old tape wounds on happily now for several years. I can't help with the action though.
  8. Animal Logic anyone? Stuart Copeland, Stanley Clarke and Deborah Holland. Late 80s if I remember. Just well crafted pop. Well I liked it
  9. I always think of Cardiacs. Bonkers time sigs and breaks. I don't know much of genres either. I know they always called themselves pop.
  10. You say you're happy with your current unlined fretless? Some find it challenging to change between lined and unlined. It's down to your preference and ability I guess. I also have both and am not great on either but it does boil down to practice, which I clearly don't do enough of.

    Dingwalls

I couldn't get my head around them. Then I found this http://www.dingwallguitars.com/basses/bass-specifications/
  12. My poor memory is telling me cello suites. I'm not sure I'd trust that though
  13. Breedlove have a good reputation and they must do a 34" model. I've only played a freshman. It's ok Cheap and alright. I'd have to try something better, to see if it's better if that makes sense ? Might be worth trying some, see what you think.
  14. 15. You need more basses. Simple. I tend to stick to one for weeks while the others watch. Actually it's been the limelight P for over 12 months now.
  16. I dunno the guys that play drums do ok. I like the minimal approach they use and that they swap vocals drums keys and guitars. It seems to work and they're fierce live too. Could a group like Vulfpeck happen in the UK?
  17. It's an Internet forum. That is all. Let go and move on. I enjoy your posts bub.
  18. You know Thomann offer a 30 day return/refund
  19. You looked on Talkbass? Might be an owners club thread. Kings seem to be quite highly regarded over there if I remember.
  20. Maybe a Warwick? Definately covers pickup, scale, spacing 16.5 but adjustable. Some models have an extended top horn, not sure if they have the fret requirement though.........
  21. Personally I'd get into the repetitive practice before throwing money at it, but I'm a tight northerner . My recollection of learning the basic technique (in the 80's!) pre YouTube, was that after hours, possibly days of thumping away it suddenly seemed to click and feel right. Same with ghost notes and muting, don't forget the muting! Keep practicing and your own style/technique/hand shape will develop. The thing I struggle with now is adjusting it to different bridge spacings, but that's probably because I won't push myself to persevere when I can easily pick up another bass that suits me more. Enjoy the Yamaha!
  22. Someone on the Bach thread had just ordered one. Quite tempted myself.
  23. It's my humble opinion no two *insert model/brand here* of anything sound identical. Wood is an organic material and each piece is unique which will have some impact on its resonance and sound producing properties. Throw in electrics, strings, paint or finish, amp, build quality and then the player. That's a huge recipe of minor differences that all add up to a slightly varying end product. Now, how about a nice non Fender P? I like red ones .......... Today http://youtu.be/cIiN7LRCA2Q
