    I did a bit of a trawl on the Dingwall site but didn't find the info. Sheldon seemed reluctant to give the dimensions on a couple of threads of people asking the same questions.

    I'm getting drawn into Dingwall GAS of late and doing a bit of research into different 5 string models. On the older models they have non neo FD3s that are squared off. Are these the same size as the later FD3n that come on The NG2 and Combustion ? Does anyone have a list of the different pick up dimensions ? Is there enough space to retro fit a 3rd pick up on an ABII? Can a bass with the square shape pickups be modded to take the later rounded shape? Has anyone had a passive version and then had it modified for the battery compartment? Did it need to go back to Dingwall for this? Thanks for looking

    I saw a '59 retailing @ €1500 online earlier today. Control plate seemed the main difference.

    It was a trick MK used to use on his headed basses for bending harmonics. Bend well is the Status version for their headless models.

    Still mulling over getting another 6er, it's been many years since the last failed attempt at one, I just couldn't get comfortable with it and the temptation to go back to "easy" 5s and 4s was too much.

    For total ott-ness Google an Atlansia Pegasus 6 string bass. Fitted with 3 individual pickups per string, yes 18 pickups! All switchable and even the pickups were adjustable by turning the pickup itself.

    They all sound like a P to me, the 3 rd strung with flats. If pushed I'd go for the 1st as my preference. It just shows, P basses sound alike but not exactly the same.

    I would say it's much more upright like than fretless bass, with the added bonus of no feedback due to the installed pickup. It's a shame as I frequently travel to and from South Wales ! However the Babybass is now sold.
