FOR SALE ONLY NO TRADES Up for sale my Markbass CMD 121P Combo. Used by me at home only very good condition. Everything working as it should be. What to say about these fantastic combos.... Ridiculously light and diminutive in size but the opposite in tone and volume. The VLE / VPF feature is great for obtaining different tones along side the usual bass / lower mid / high mid / treble pre amp controls. This one has the Italian made Combo Head II which is the LM 3 I believe. So, its available in the Manchester area to come and see or I am more than happy to deliver with arrangement as I travel often or meet up. These artec piezos are the single strip type ? Anyone used the individual element per string type of the more expensive brands like ABM or ETS? Any difference ?
-
-
Anyone developed an interest in an Enfield? http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Enfield_Lionheart_standard.html
-
Check out Armin Metz on you tube both his 6ers have delano pickups. Might give a vague idea of the tone.
-
Thanks Owen, I've been looking into piezos so reading there is little difference may have just saved me a good few quid.
-
Is the pentabuzz sustain largely down to the polyester coated fingerboard?
-
That should cover everything! Sounds great. What options do the pickups have?
-
Probably to do with age now becoming a factor and lack of maintenance - built like a tank etc Also the downsizing to class D amps and the like. Devalued big heavy amps over time.
-
Except an acoustic bass with round wounds. Especially those God awful bronze strings.
-
It depends where you are playing, practising alone it will appear all the time unless you spend a lot of time figuring out when it occurs and then adjusting your technique to stop it. It takes a long time to get to that point and pretty unlikely you will eliminate it completely. You mentioned wasted motion, well if it's serving a purpose - eliminating string noise, then it isn't wasted. That's part of the technique, lifting enough to not drag on the strings but not so much that your fingers are flailing around. In a band situation it mostly disappears naturally unless the bass is solo'd. As stated above moving to flat wounds will definately make a huge difference.

Ashdown Little Bastard LB30 amp plus LB212 Cab for sale

Is it me or does that look like the fingerboard has been replaced? Warwicks usually have a scalloped type edge where it meets the body? Check the neck is straight and truss rod is ok too if possible.
-
ICastle posted pretty much all I was going to say. There are many ways to strum. Pick one that fits what you're trying play.
