1. Richter in Germany also make piezo circuits. I think I read Basslab use them.
2. Thanks Jim! I've mailed Thomann again but still no response. For what they cost its hard not to try one, handy 30 day return as well.
3. The grand butchery plan is: to attempt a Steinberger-esque 5/6/7 string using a cheap 5/6/7 string bass.
4. If you were making a bass from scratch around a finished neck is either more difficult?
5. I've emailed Thomann a few days ago but not heard anything so thought I would ask here as I believe a few have ended up with bass chatters. I'm trying to find out a few things. The weight? Bridge spacing Pickup dimensions If anyone has one and can help I'd appreciate it. Feel free to add any real life info too. Thanks in advance
6. Thanks for the replies folks ! I think I might be ok now.
7. That white 5er seriously good looking! Not that the other one isn't. Was that on Gumtree a while ago?
8. Would like to have got to this Thanks for posting the yt link. Spent the last hour enjoying Prescott
9. The USA gave you IRA status... good luck with that! See what I did there Seriously though enjoy it !!!
10. There was a reply to wanted the other day. Don't know how ??
11. Check out Cody Wright or the legend that is Bobby Vega on you tube for inspiration!
12. I'm looking at bass in Italy and getting no response from the seller. I'm guessing it's the language barrier. Any Italian members that would be able/prepared to help? Thanks in advance
13.
You'd need a HUUUGE house if everyone did.
PMSL
14.
If you like, but I already have two nice P basses so the effects will be minimal. Edit: I do currently have slight GAS for a small but powerful combo from either Phil Jones or Markbass, but both are beyond my means at the moment and in any case I already have a perfectly good small but powerful combo, so can resist.
PJB and Markbass it is then! However I can bide my time, it never takes long. I know for me it is a psychological thing. I've bought basses on the net, and in the time it took for it to be delivered, lost all interest in said bass and simultaneously developed GAS for something else. A bit like a cat and its prey I suppose, once it's mine the interest fizzles away.
15. So potentially what would cause you GAS? Should we just send you the links to nice P basses and save you some time
16. I'll just take a fail for this one. Wholly unjustifiable. I haz hoarding.
17. Sounds like the output of the FNA is higher. I don't know maybe there's an adjustment pot on the pre amp to turn it down? Or is it 9v powered? When the battery has been low on my warwick it starts to distort. Time to replace it?
18. So it's back for sale now?
19. Yeah Steve Bailey was an endorser, back in his spandex yoga pant days but that's another story. There were 4/5/6 version neck through (C)ustom with fancy tops (their description) and the standard version which was a bolt on and alder body.
20. Just use beeswax. Olive oil can go 'off' Fine mineral oil is better
