Letts?
at least you are coming from the other side, i never received the cash nor the bass....
And you were happy to leave it that way??
3. I've been reading about these out of production basses from the early 90's. The build seems good with EMG made pickups. Has anyone played one or got one? Searched YouTube but not much coming up, and what does isn't great quality. I'm interested in how they sound and play, particularly the 6ers.
4. The pics are on the other thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/278186-duplicate-thread-please-delete
5. Wow how many fantastic basses do you have ?? Another gas inducer here
6. Surely it's down to the pickup sensing areas? Then making the strings sit across the neck- without the outer strings going over the edge. Then set to your preference. The 19mm is usually string centre to centre. I haven't used one of those bridges before but any other 3d adjustable bridge I've always locked them in place. I can't see why you wouldn't ? Did the tech explain why not to do this?
7. Yeah that is stunning, but like Chris said, it doesn't in my eyes all fit together.
8. If be very interested to hear your thoughts on the vb 99 as you've owned and used this one so long
9. The electrics and hardware are worth that new! Bargainous. What would the bridge spacing be on this?
10. How do you guys cope with 14/15/16 mm spacing?? I struggle with 17 and don't have sausage fingers. Enlighten me please as running out of 18mm + 5 and 6s to try.
11. Ahhh yes but one of them is still that RA ? Quality not quantity sir
12. Uhoh what have you found? Good price!
13. Good grief! First that ampeg and now this. I'm gonna burst. I don't think you'll need any more pics.....
14. That's almost the twin to my Limelight. 58 P, gold anodised plate. Jazz neck was the clincher for me. I'd never looked at a P before with any interest or enthusiasm, something about this that leapt out at me and I havent regretted it. Bought it on a whim and I'm fairly sure it's a keeper, which isn't something I say often after 30 odd years of playing ! The relicing for me really is a big part of the basses appeal. The relief of picking it up and putting it down without a worry of the odd mark or scratch is great. A pristine instrument is fabulous but it's truly difficult to relax with one. I'm not an abuser but it's refreshing to not be conscious of it. The worn neck is also lovely. I still have no interest in a new Fender P and doubt I ever will. I feel like I got lucky, but from what I've read of other Limelight owners I don't appear to be the only one. I'm struggling to think what could improve it (over another P)
15. Rick Turner Renaissance models are nice too, if you can find one.
16. Yeah flats........ probably. Not the bronze acoustatrophe's. That to my ears create the best finger noise and scratchiness ever. See what I did there? I merged two words for huge comedic effect. A bit like electro-acoustic. Now what "acoustic" tone do you want? Actual acoustic? Rob Allen electric emulating a perceived acoustic tone? Upright acoustic? Mag pickup acoustic? Perhaps a modern use type bass? The possibilities are endless
17. Anyone currently dabbling with this ? Low 20hz is it possible with anything on the market ? I'm at the research point so any experience or advice is welcomed. Any amps or cabs that do a decent job of this?
18. Lovely. Good weight for a full bodied wood construction 6 string too.
19. Cooooorrrrrrrr can't stop looking at this! Everyday I have to check
