1. Yes they are new, i should've added on the used market.
2. I agree with the ACG comments. Really well crafted, good value and quality instruments. You might find a used Rob Allen in your budget, I'm not sure on the string spacing. Might not have the right growl? Warwicks are 16.5mm on the standard 5 strings. Definately growly and loads of choice. Some of them aren't too heavy Alembic? Pedulla? Zon? I think there's a Vinny on eBay. Not to everyones taste Modulus? Sei? Spoilt for choice
3. BCer looking for his old fretless 5 here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/262017-wal-five-string-fretless-w3267
4. Posted a link to this on the Warwick forum.
5. Bound to be, they've been around long enough
6. You had a look at the status website? There's a forum too that may contain the answers you seek.
7. Now ive watched this a few times FFS have grown on me. That is all
8. That sounds great. Look forward to the pics. Did you notice much difference between the pickups?
9. If you haven't yet I would urge you to try a limelight before ordering a brave wood. Here's one of your pics
10. LMii anyone?
11. Thank you
12. Cor that looks interesting. According to the specs this would fit in a Markbass combo. I get confused, are sansamp and tech 21 the same company?
13. An old mate was in Shy Talk many years ago. Go on say it faster
14. I realised it was sparks when they came on. Watched it, not impressed, quite disappointed as I was a bit of a sparks fan. I thought the other singer looked familiar. As it ended I recognised Franz Ferdinand so felt quite pleased my self Still wasn't keen. The lone below and Alabama shakes were better for me.
15. I bet you still get lowball offers!! Good price tho
16. I had the same but from a private seller. I'm sure it was a manufacturer fault but will never be able to prove it. Unfortunately a friend collected the bass from seller and I didn't get to it for a month, by which time the seller denied all knowledge. How does that warranty work? If tweaking the truss rod is going to void it?
17. Yet more praise forthcoming type post. I have far too many basses. No really, it's ridiculous and probably out of hand Warwick Wal Status Musicman Acg a few Fenders. A couple of customs even. I enjoy using all of them, on and off. You know you have the ones you might pick up once or twice a week. Others maybe as many times in a year. Then there's the "favourites" , in my case a Warwick or two. Or so I thought. This Limelight I have is definately becoming a contender. It's climbed onto my list kind of by accident due an ingrained long term P bass dis like. Which over time grew into dismissal. For years I wouldn't even entertain the thought of owning or playing one. I bought mine in a bit of a rush. Not like the usual lengthy deliberation. Something just looked right about it (I'm a bit of a heavy relic mug). Then when I played and heard the previous owner play it I was blown away. It's got one of those tones that's been in my head for years but never came out of what I played ( P bass ignorance again ) Im almost at the point that it's become my go to, my damn I love the tone and feel of this thing bass. Every time I pick it up I end up losing hours of my life just noodling. When I'm not using it I often think, why not sell it. It's a precision after all, and I really don't like them. I've realised I'm afraid to. That it would likely become one of those basses that leaves a huge regret filled hole. I am now considering flogging pretty much everything else. Even the old guards I've owned 20 or 30 years! Imagine the simplicity of owning just one bass! Not having to choose and fanny about, just pick up "the one" and play it. Surely my playing would improve just getting totally engrossed in playing and not constantly tweaking or changing to try different tones, tunings, string spacing and strings! I do get used to different basses fairly quickly and easily but I imagine not doing this, and being a jack of all basses would improve technique on one specific instrument? Blimey what a ramble
18. Almost 24 hours and not even a pic. Disappointed in all of you. Must try harder.
19. just re read the topic. Scratch the warwick it's not 35". Acg was though.
20. Warwicks are 16.5 mm but a through neck may not be in your budget. I had an ACG that was 16 or 16.5 too and through neck, again depends what your budget is.
21. Crikey wot a steal!
22. So the suns been out for a while now and, probably like the rest of you,I'm thinking "what can I annoy strangers and friends alike with in the coming summer months" Aha a bass uke! Experienced users opinions sought please. Is the fretless a bit of a nightmare intonation wise? (Worse than a standard scale fretless) Is the fretted any good for a faux DB type sound. Thanks all
23. Result! I'm amazed there was no correspondence
24. Looking good Rob!
