1. Someone buy this for Bass Guardian. Make us both happy
2.
Ouch...horrible to watch that at the end. Both Jaydee and Pangborn were basically Alembic copies of the highest calibre.
Always wondered what that bass was in that video. Always loved the look of it over his jaydees.
3. Looks good! How easy is it to destroy a neck? Slightly dubious of my own abilities.
4. Limelight all day long. I understand it's not the genuine article but I believe you would be very hard pushed to find an original for anything like the money it would cost. As for a CS version being an investment, they don't appear to increase in value following the slump after buying new. Then you have a custom instrument which already narrows your future resale potential. Lastly a £4K instrument can be a real headache to own and really use. It's just too stressful trying to keep it mint, which I guess would be happening in terms of protecting your investment.
5. Recently saw one of these in the flesh, although I don't think it was a thomann one. The chap had removed the strings and converted into a 4 string with bass tuning. When I saw it hanging on the wall, I thought it was a coracle ! Huge thing , big sound too.
6. Thanks. Just found the John East version. Looks good, might be a bit too pricey though.
7. Want no more..... Buy this
8. I'm thinking of adding the big pick guard to one of my basses. What's the general consensus on the pre amps? Anyone know of a stockist? Thanks
9. Tempted to keep this. Just need to get an upright to hide it behind
10.
Here's mine, No124 58, Jazz neck. It's a wonderful Bass and I couldn't be any happier with it. Sadly, If my Warwick doesn't sell then this might have to go.
Now mine this has blown away all of my precision preconceptions, dislikes and general anti fender outlook. Never would I have predicted that a humble beaten up ole P bass could have been this enjoyable. Truly awesome playing and sounding thing. Always liked relic looking basses but I didn't expect it takes feel so worn in, comfortable and full of character. Thanks Pete, err Kenny
11.
*edit* is it the pics or does the string alignment look a bit off?
Mehhhhh Adam'll never notice
This is probably the one that appeared They're so, so rare and crazy difficult to get hold of... I'm loving it so far
I guessed it might be. If you ever change your mind let me know
13. I hope a jazz version doesn't appear for sale soon or my bank account is for it!
14. I think they are meant to give the loudest acoustic volume?
15. What do you have currently? You might have more luck posting this the amps n cabs gear forum.
My newly acquired 6-string Fender Jazz Bass...
First impressions? Always liked these, probably not for me but had a bit of a moment when one appeared here for sale recently.
17. Sorry no postage on this. Scale length is 34" Nut width 40mm String spacing at bridge is 19mm. Amazed it hasn't gone at this price.
18. Can any of you good people do me a quick favour and measure your TI from the bridge to where the red silk starts at the nut end. This is on a long scale 34". Reason I ask is I recently fitted a set and the E string looks different to the other strings. The red silk is about an inch or two longer than the other 3 strings. Slightly different tone and feel across the set. Thanks
19.
hmmm well... My only issue with the Ziricote is that that nice light patch down the center will be broken up by a bridge, a pair of enormous pickups and the truss rod cavity at the base of the neck. Looking at my current MK3 there would be about three inches of that center strip visible along the entire length of the body and i'm worried it might look a bit angular broken up like that...
I had an ACG with similar patterning, Cocobolo top and the join in the centre has a much lighter stripe. Lovely but kind of got lost when the hardware was installed.
20. Whats the P bass tone like from this? Also, a lightweight Warwick - didn't know they existed either! Looks good enough to eat
