1.
"I've got to admit with it being excessively gigged time hasn't been kind to the satin finish, so one evening it got...refinished." -technically it is an upgrade to the finish because as stated it wasn't very hard wearing. Was quite prone to pressure marks and indents because it was quite a soft way of finishing a bass. Knowhere do I claim it to be an "upgrade" in any of my adverts either on here or gumtree. Frankly people can be p*ssy about it but at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. No I just accidentally picked up my blowtorch and scorched it.

To be fair the satin finish wasn't too hard wearing, I see it as an upgrade- can always be sanded back to natural wood and refinished fairly easily
2.
It's not relic'd! Where does it say relic'd on the ad?
Sorry I misread, this thread mentions relic. The for sale ad described it as a refinish or upgrade. I refinished and upgraded my toast earlier today. Was it an intentional refinish? Genuine question
3. We're simple folk. Pictures make us happy.
4. I see what you mean as that Lowend one has some figuring. Maybe the very plain woods got a solid colour finish and figured woods got stained ?
5. I'm sure I read in the past day or so the brass bridges were fitted. I'll try and find the info and double check for you. I've been thinking about getting a pro II lately. Let's seesome pics
6. That's different, in a pleasing way
7. A naked Pro II. Fairly unremarkable wood, I dont know what the original finish was either.

21. .
22. Thanks Rob. I've seen your NBD thread and it isn't helping my gas issue! Great write up.
23. I've recently been looking at warwick 6 strings again. It's probably gas but I think I'm on a slippery slope! I haven't tried a 6 string for years, one was a Larrivee which I couldn't get on with but didnt persevere with and a friends ken smith, then went back to 4s only for a long while. Last year I got a couple of 5 strings which I didn't feel was much of a struggle to feel comfortable playing, however I find a string spacing of 16-17 mm just too narrow. From what I've read, standard warwick 6 spacings are 16-17mm and broadneck versions are 20? Warwick fans seem keen on broadneck models. Is there any advantage ? I know a broadneck must be quite a heavy lump given the size and Warwicks aren't generally the lightest of instruments!
