1. Thanks Rob. I've seen your NBD thread and it isn't helping my gas issue! Great write up.
2. I've recently been looking at warwick 6 strings again. It's probably gas but I think I'm on a slippery slope! I haven't tried a 6 string for years, one was a Larrivee which I couldn't get on with but didnt persevere with and a friends ken smith, then went back to 4s only for a long while. Last year I got a couple of 5 strings which I didn't feel was much of a struggle to feel comfortable playing, however I find a string spacing of 16-17 mm just too narrow. From what I've read, standard warwick 6 spacings are 16-17mm and broadneck versions are 20? Warwick fans seem keen on broadneck models. Is there any advantage ? I know a broadneck must be quite a heavy lump given the size and Warwicks aren't generally the lightest of instruments!
3. So is the neck warped or is the wood damp and swollen?
4. You don't need luck. Just money. Lots of.
5. Reduced to £350 SWR Redhead Combo Pre Fender version. Bought from Bass Direct a long time ago. Been stored indoors for the last 10 years and used maybe half a dozen times. Original release with diamond grille, this is the classic version delivering 240 watts into 2 x 10" drivers and 1 x horn. In very good condition, still has clip on front cover / Tilt and removable castors to ease shifting it. Not looking for any trades
6.
My recent acquisition. A simply amazing bass. It's everywhere I look! Jealous appreciation
7. Sadly I found the same with stingrays. When I finally got one I was quite unimpressed. The SUB strangely felt much more alive
8. Alternatively get a USA made SUB. They're usually around half the price, sound and feel like a Ray if you don't mind the rather industrial paint.
9. So that's an mb2 in the clip? They're 34" right? It looks tiny. Gosh a mouse must look even dinkier. Now, a mouse or a deep 5 hmmmm
10. Hi ash What scale is this please? Cheers
11. There are but I'm not allowed to post them!! You people are not helping my gas....
12. Realised I'd previously bought a pedal from jose so a belated feedback post. All went as smooth as a Mitchell brothers head. Thanks !
13. Another wonderfully efficient deal done with Jose. No problems whatsoever. Happy chappy.
Nope, they're designed to get that raw edgy jazz bass tone so they're true single coil, but they're VERY quiet unless you've got noisy electronics. I've not had a problem until I bought my current house, I can't even plug in my wife's high end Marantz hifi amp without getting hum there. I'll still be getting SBs in my next ACG though, they sound fantastic! So in summary, not officially noiseless, but VERY quiet
Thanks for that. Is the spacing adjustable? I'm learning that I think I'm happiest on 18-19 ish. Although the status I had was 19 but couldn't get on with it at all.
15.
And I have one First time I can say I own a dream bass!
I would never have guessed that was a maple top! You had a chance to play it yet Kev? Happy bunny? I should leave this thread now. The last thing I need is Wal induced GAS...

THAT IS NICE! Timing sucks though Are the single coils noiseless ?
17. Man thats Shiny! It looks absolutely mint! Congrats! Come on after all those Warwicks and this is your 1st dream bass?
18. Im told its due to the size? Over 130cm longest side…. still trying to sort something out. ho hum Ive been looking at DHL and Ups and arranging collection from Germany, and now my brain is fried. Norway huh? You must know my friend Colin
19. Gosh all these jewels for sale ..... You buying a new house ?
20. Thanks folks. Insurance is needed for definite. Kev do you know which service yours used? Sounds more realistic. (And what have you got now ? )
21. Can anyone recommend a reliable service to send a bass from Germany to UK? The seller I'm speaking to is getting prices of over €400!! From dhl, deutsche post won't do it as its over 120 cm when cased. I've had basses previously from there that cost £50-60 insured. Thanks in advance
