  1. That’s a wide range of sounds from a few piezos! I guess its all in the preamp/onboard electronics how does a tonestyler compare to the variax?
  2. I’m sure I saw that on Facebook or somewhere this week too. Caught my eye but a bit expensive for what’s needed
  3. Has it gone through the lacquer and into the wood? I’ve used wax crayons, waxy make up and nail polish in the past to touch up minor scratches and dings. It doesn’t always make it disappear but tints the colour so it’s less obvious. Steaming is more if you have a dent or indent somewhere, as someone else said I’m not sure how well it works on lacquered or painted surfaces.
  4. I like that. Narrow waist and widens out nicely. Zebra wood always looks good. Nice find 😎
  5. Not a recommendation as I know nothing about the company, just came across the site today whilst searching for pickups https://www.fletcherpickups.co.uk/copy-of-suitable-for-fender-precisio and because we all love a photo
  6. Nice job @scrumpymike it doesn’t look home made, I’ve certainly seen worse looking commercially produced products (albeit not bass related )
  7. Ahhh thanks for that, I misread it about the Streamer. Saves me going hunting 😄
  8. Purchased some Fretwraps from @rabs (Rob) no problems and hassle free. thanks Rob! ( my spellcheck insists your name is Ron 🤷🏻‍♂️😄)
  9. Recently bought some strings from @three (Loz), thoroughly pleasant experience and great packaging. Smooth transaction. thanks Loz!
  10. I believe @tauzero bought a bass from them in person earlier this week. He posted in the forum Bass Guitars.
  11. I was only looking at this the other day
  12. That’s the good shizzle maaaaan 💨
  13. @anzoid thanks for this, very useful info. I didn’t know Warwick made a short scale Streamer, interesting, I’d only seen the Corvettes before and I’m not a big fan of the shape. I’ve got a couple of SS basses that I’ll upload some pics of if you want to add them to the list. Is it only 30” ones here or are you adding shorter scales?
  14. Honestly I’d say they are used in metal for fashion reasons as much as anything. One popular band uses something and it catches on. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the multi scale thing does the job perfectly well, but it was done perfectly well before multi scale became a thing too. The multiscale was more about balanced tension as I understand it- think of a piano etc.
  15. Thanks @Boodang Passive in this current one. Still looking at pickup options. I think I have an Audere Pro pre amp somewhere albeit it’s on a jazz plate. I’ll have to dig it out.
  16. Loved my redhead. I imagine this is even better. If it wasn’t for two flights of stairs Silverado, you would’ve pulled! #It isn’t you, it’s me
  17. Following this looking to pickup (no pun) tips for another 3 pickup bass.
