1. Congrats on your new addition. Looks the biz. Precision getting too heavy for you now?
2. I sometimes run mine with a Focus 115 extention. I say sometimes because it is rarely (if ever, if I am being honest) necessary. The fact that the head is fully enclosed, and can always be removed to establish another rig is a bonus. Fender have crapped on GB big time, and these combos which would (IMO) still be selling by the truckload, are just not available.
3. Do the replacement PUs fit?
4. Peavey T-40 1963 Gibson EBO I am an arse
5. Anyone ever owned one? Originally had soapbar pickups, and a basic active circuit.
6.
I have had a couple hb's and recently bought a friend a guitar from there. Pics are in the guitar section. I have found the more expensive the harley benton the better it is. The cheapest bass ive owned came from there a short scale p bass when i wanted to see if i like a shorter neck. It was ok perfectly playable, pickups were actually very usable and certainly more powerful than the base model yamaha rbx i had at the time. When buying a harley benton in general always look for the ones that have wilkinson pickups and deluxe hardware as its a little better than the bass models. And the ones with better woods too. Apparently HBs come from the chinese saein factory, which also have a place in korea. And have manufactured for other companies. So they know how to make guitars. See in the guitar section my post on the recent HB purchase where i make an honest evaluation.
I agree about chosing those with Wilkinson pickups. Otherwise, should you wish to upgrade, the routing may not be suitable.
7. Have now agreed a trade. I would like to thank all those who contacted me with some very tempting offers.
8. Just a quick heads-up. It appears that the Tanglewood collaboration is over, and these basses are no more. I have a Classic Jazz (now with Entwistle neos in place), and picked it up at £219. Fantastic slim neck. Well-built. If you are considering these, looks like you will have a last chance. http://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/guitar-bass/bass-guitars/overwater
9. Have them up tomorrow
10. Yes, I can get some photos up, but being about four weeks old, there is no fret wear.
11. Cannot beleive this is still here. I have a LH500. Great amp.
12. Only just took delivery of this bass from Thormann recently. Bought on a whim, but it really does not suit me, or the music I play, that is mostly blues. It has far more of a modern sound. At this point, I am interested in trades, and have a liking for more traditional instruments, although I do prefer jazz profiles. This pic is from the GAK site, but mine is pretty much identical apart from mine having the midrange selector switch.
13. I have one of these. They are outstanding. Used for a recent blues jam, and volume was no trouble at all. That should have sold straightaway IMO.
14. If my shares sale comes through, I'll have this.
15. I might be inclined to buy a pre-wired jazz loom, with clamps to installed pickup wires. Saves a ton of soldering crap.
16. Any suggestions for a suitable bass that would benefit from installing these?
17. Thanks for that, Andy. Just had a look at your site. That Westone is gorgeous.
18. I have a pair of active 60201 pickups, but no preamp. Don't know much about these TBH, but don't want them to just sit in my spares box if they are any good. All project suggestions welcome. BTW, I do not have a J type bass knocking about to use as a project. Thanks all
19. Would this work with some active MECs from a Rockbass?
20. And it is always handy to clarify if a minor second is part of the turnaround.
21. If I had the funds, I would be all over this
22. cachao

Sold

That is lovely. If only...I had the cash
23. Decided to go with the Hartke, as it's mainly for backup. Thanks for the input, guys.
