1. I play blues, and little else, if that helps. I can also run an MXR M80 into the amp if necessary.
2. Looking for a backup head, for rack mounting. I can possibly get an HD-350 for a little more than the Hartke. Is is worth stretching the extra £100 or so? Thanks
3. I have a Mexican Strat available. No good to me, as I don't play it. Bought it on a whim in about 2000. Very good condition with a few surface blemishes. I would also be willing to consider trades for bass equipment, particularly amplifier head. I have confirmed the year as 1996/97 from the Fender site. I'll get some more pics up, but they will be the same as on Gumtree, unless requested.
4. I run a similar rig, but with Focus 115. It is a good combination.
5. Glad you got it sorted. Just for future reference, and if it is of any help, I had a similar problem. It transpired that, in my case, the nut was cut too low on the A string. The A string itself played fine, but my fingers coming to rest when plucking the D string caused the clank.
6. Got neos in my Tanglewater, ceramics in my old Merica. Definitely louder in the former. Difficult to compare sounds, as these are totally different basses.
7. I don't find them noisy
8. Don't get any hum from my JBXN. Sounds lush.
9. Conan, the neos are about twice the price of the ceramics. I have the jazz ceramics in my old Merica neck thru, and they sound great too. I wish I knew how to make some pickup surrounds, though.
10. Just installed a JBXN to match the PBXN in my Tanglewater. The difference between the stock jazz and the Entwistle is stark. The stock pickup was a snivelling wimp compared to the JBXN, and the two pickups now match beautifully. Power? Got it in spades. At the price, you really should give them a go.
11. Beautiful instrument
12. You look like a big bloke, so I shall tread carefully. Sadly, no, not handmade as far as I know.
13. How do I remove a review? I added some tags, and now it is up twice
14. I was surprised that, so far, no one has reviewed Entwistle bass pickups, neither the p or the j models. Alan Entwistle is a UK guitar and pickup designer, who claims over 30 years experience in the field. He has designed pickups both to his specifications, and to those of others, including Chris May of Overwater. Having recently bought an Overwater/Tanglewood Classic Jazz, I was disappointed by the low output of the pickups compared to a Wizard Thumper that sits in a beat up Aria precision copy. So, I switched the Wizard into the Overwater, and there was an immediate improvement in volume, and overall tone. I guess many of you guys will be familiar with the now sadly defunct Wizard company. Needing a replacement p pickup for the Aria, and having had good experiences with Entwistles j bass pickups, I purchased an Entwistle p bass pickup. Not one of his ceramic models, but the new PBXN neodymium one. I installed this in the Aria, and the clarity, and output were staggering. Even more so than the Wizard in the Overwater. For a while I thought this might be due to some qualities of the cheap Aria, the wood, the density...whatever. Today, I installed the PBXN into the Overwater, and it sings, and growls, all with great depth and clarity. Just like the Aria. I am going to use it at rehearsal tomorrow, and will feedback further then. BTW, did I mention the price? No. About £25. I only have experience of one quality p bass pickup, the Wizard, but most replacement pickups cost a significant sum. I think the PBXN is a bargain, although I may have to get the jazz version now, as the stock Overwater j pickup is overwhelmed, and quietly sobbing by the bridge.

16.
Hi Mate, you might want to consider one of these Eden's. Fabulous necks and you can shape the headstock to replicate your Warwick. I use one of these on my Jazz bass project build and it's magnificent. Certainly as good, if not better than some of the Warwicks and Fenders I've played. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=eden+bass+neck&_sop=10&_osacat=4713&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xpaddle+headstock&_nkw=paddle+headstock&_sacat=619
Thanks for that. Do you know if they produce 24 fret bass necks?
17. Another recommendation here. Amazing quality for the price. I run the 210, and add a Focus 115 on occasion. This combo thunders!
18. Tech says the neck cannot be easily fixed as it has a double bow in it. Shame to bin the body. Anyone know if replacement necks are available for a Corvette? Alternatively, will another manufacturers neck fit? I am thinking not. The body and electronics are fine.

20.
I've gigged with my Aria STB P loads, I paid a whacking £40, 1/4 Pounder P/U and Chromes later and it's awesome.
I see you have the ashtray. Have you added weights to this to correct the neck dive?
21. Got to be worth £50 http://www.axecentral.com/music-drive-guitars-10482519.html
22. Scored an Aria STB p bass from Gumtree for £10. I made a few basic adjustments to the neck and bridge, and now have a very playable, and solid instrument. I am quite impressed by the quality of this bass, and it has served me well during a couple of blues gigs this week. Of course, I did have to put some new flats on. The Wizard Thumper probably made a difference too.
23. I have one of these. An absolute bargain at that price.
24. I have the 115 combo. Rehearsing with it for the first time this week.

Got to say, it is gorgeous.
