1. Agreed - think I will put it away in a cupboard for a rainy day!!
I still have my Mutron, because for me it's unique. I do agree though, it's definitely not the most practical filter for a live application. In all the time I've had it (probably 4 years or so) I've never gigged it. I'd keep it if I were you - Unless you're desperate for the cash. The longer you hold on to it, the more it'll be worth!
2. Cheers man!
Just listening to the track now...Great stuff dude. Does indeed sound Funktastic!!
3. Got mine last week and used it on Tuesday - great sounds, great build and the Tone Print function is awesome. I had to have the volume at just past 3'o'clock to cover our drummer so not sure that it would be up to the job of replacing my Mark Bass LMIII but then that is not really why I bought it! Will be good as an aid to rehearsing at home though with the aux in and headphones out sockets.
 4. Thought that I would share a rough mix of the track using the Filter Twin so you can hear what it sounds like! Please excuse the playing!!
 5. Really in love with the Filter Twin now, we were in the studio last week and the producer was looking at my MuTron and commenting on how you don't see many of them about. We were doing a track that I wanted a filter on so I opted for the FT and he stopped the session to say that it was the funkiest sound that he had ever heard and the best filter for a bass. I think he thought it was the MuTron so I didn't have the heart to tell him otherwise! I think that my MuTron is coming off the board and I have to seriously consider selling it or not - very big and heavy and I also have a few problems with active basses being too hot for it!
Cheers mate. It's a great Filter. You don't lose your original tone at all. It just whacks 2 filters going in opposite directions, and you choose how much of each you want It almost sounds like there is a built in blend to me, as I can always hear my clean tone with it. Not sure if that's what's going on, but whatever it is doing, it works!
6. The Sound Stylistics, Papa Grows Funk and Tower of Power would be my recommendations!
 7. I don't think that this is Deacon's recorded line, it just sounds too different to the original to my ears.
 8. I use the Filter Twin more than my MuTron III!
Thanks for your nice words Higgie. You right the Filter Twin is a too much fun toy to have! Cheers
9. What does it sound like if you mix the tone print with an external effect pedal? For example octave with fuzz?
There are three switches: 1: Mute 2: Toneprint on/off 3: Switch between the last two loaded toneprints Agree with spaners, well worth the investment
10. There was some confusion on the thread as to what it did with this amp - can you clarify?
 11. Cool - seems like a no brainer then!
Had mine for a couple of weeks now. Love the sound. Love tone prints. Build seems very solid, no funny noises from mine. I havent tryed it through anything bigger than my RS112 8ohm cab, but at home that is loud at just 1 quater volume. Had an ampeg pf350 befor and that was def not as loud into the same cab. Into a pair of 12s or a 4x10 at 4ohms I think this would be more than enuf loud for most things and if you need more theres a Di on the back
12. Excellent story - so sorry for your families loss though. As I have said before, the people on here are awesome, so genuine and helpful it really does make me smile. My motto for this forum is: Basschat - restoring faith in human nature!
 13. Got bad GAS for one of these - worried about how loud they are though! Can it cover a drum kit at a live gig/rehearsal?
 14. Thank you, will have a good read through that article and also check out those two pedals, only worry with Mark Bass pedals is that they are so damn big!
 15. Do you think it would be loud enough to gig with and cover a drum kit?
Got one delivered a couple of days ago to use at home, and it certainly sounds very nice. Makes a few odd noises at start up that I will have to keep an eye on, has a couple of cheap wobbly switches on the front and although the shop insisted it was brand new and taken straight from their warehouse, its certainly been used at some time and had the power cable missing from the box. The shop said this happens some times with TC equipment........
16. Thinking of getting one of these as a back up/practice amp as it has aux in etc and wonder if anyone has bought on yet and got any feedback? They seem a steal at £235 and the app for changing effects seems pretty cool too!
 17. I have had my EBS Multi-Comp for some time now and never really thought too much about it but there seem to be a lot on the market now and I wonder which one people feel is the best and most useable? Seems that the Aguilar TLC, Diamond Bass Comp and the MXR seem to be most favoured. But what about the Spectracomp on the TC amps? I really only use a compressor when I am slapping to even out the pops - should I be looking for more usage than this such as improving the highs? Any opinions and advice greatfully received!
 18. I went through the exact same thing as you and in the end only calmed my desire by actually getting one! They are great pedals and no other filter sounds like them and believe me I have tried them all apart from the 3 Leaf stuff. However, they do take a bit of work to get that sound just right and it really changes between basses too so if you use more than one it can be an issue. They are also large and heavy and take up loads of space on a pedal board too. I am beginning to think that they are a great studio effect but maybe not the thing for live use? I have found the Aguilar Filter Twin to be a great pedal and much better than others that you have mentioned. It is funny though how one works for one and not another, Higgie loves the Subdecay Prometheus and Maxon AF9 but I could not get on with either of them!
 19. It's a tough life Mick! I think that I did put some pics of the Rumour on this thread when I got it but you would have to trawl through and see. Anyhow some new ones of it would not go amiss on here!
See Mark, I'm not sure whether I'm envious of you or not...you have to choose between something like this...or the Thuya on the website...decisions, decisions, eh???
20. Mick just bought my GB Rumour from me and was a top man to deal with throughout, really nice and polite and great with comms. I was sad to let this bass go but know that Mick will take care of it! Would highly recommend him to others on the forum.
 21. Not 100% sure yet but something along the lines of a Rumour in burr walnut but with no thru neck showing on the face, highly figured birds eye maple finger board etc. Definitely want the battery and electronic covers cut from the wood rather than plastic this time.
Cool - what sort of spec are you thinking of this time?
22. Sounds good - will be down soon to see tha man and talk about my Rumour 5.
The same one. The office is now Bernies workshop. The basement is now what you see in that pic. There is a new kitchen in and upstairs has been completely revamped and the teaching room has been created. I think Dr Bob is looking at stocking more higher end stuff. Its certainly in the process of transforming from a little back street shop to a more boutique niche effort. The workshop toilet is more like a throne room now! You wouldnt recognise the place now.
23. Is that really the basement where I went before in Prestonville Road? Last time I went in there Dr Bob had some interesting stuff upstairs but that was it!
Dont suppose you've been down to the workshop recently have you? The bassment has undergone a massive refurb and now houses a pretty immense collection of vintage bass, guitars and amps...
24. Is that Psycho Andy's old Spitfire?
 25. Both - now know who the bass player is but the band?
Who is who? The bass player? Dan Humphreys.
