This pedal is in mint condition as it has only been out of the house once! Bought brand new from Bass Direct a few months ago and comes with all original packaging and PSU. These retail for £269 and I am looking for £225 + postage. Any questions then please PM me. I think that the crunch time is how it cuts through in a live band situation, I can get some great synth sounds at home with the Mark Bass Synth but with the band they just seem to get lost and lose all of the bottom end. Let us know how you get on.
Cheers Guys, the momentary footswitch sounds like a must! Looking forward to getting to know the DI a bit better, but initial impressions are really pleasing.
-

Just fitted an East Musicman Stringray preamp!
Gunsfreddy2003 posted a topic in Accessories and Misc
I had an East preamp put into my 2011 5 string Stingray Classic on Saturday and I can say is WOW!!! Opted for the 3 band and the mid makes such a difference to the sound. Sounds better than my '77 Stingray now - so much more grunt. If anyone has a Stingray I would highly recommend fitting one of these and to top it all John East is an absolute gent to deal with. Happy days! -

Agreed that with a DI you should not need the Chunk pedals anymore! Let me know how you are getting on with it once you have had some more time with it. I went for the LS2 for the same reason - have a few tunes where I need to turn 3 or 4 pedals on at the same time and it was a nightmare - would highly recommend getting some loops set up. Of course if money is no object then the Gigrig switching systems are amazing!!
Hi Mark, Hope you're well, Diago seems a really good buy at a very reasonable price - extremely pleased with it at the moment. I've just posted the Agent 00Funk in the for sale section - am asking what I paid for it - whilst I really like it (and the Brown Dog) I've just purchased the Deep Impact from a fellow Basschatter (Mace) so think they may well be redundant - I'll let you know how I get on with it but first impressions are really much more than I expected! It really is (and I hate using this word) Awesome - really versatile - goes from subtle to mayhem and everything in between without any effort - will be trying to program a few sounds that I'm after when I get used to it. Regarding the LS2/SFX Loop Logic - I'll have to do a bit more research to try and get a handle on what it is I want exactly - all a bit confusing at the moment! I'm thinking I'd like to have a loop that will turn on my octave pedal along with the chorus for certain songs/effects by stomping on just one switch rather than doing a Riverdance - is that even possible (forgive my ignorance!) Diago's are the business - best power supply out there I reckon. Really interested to hear what you make of the Deep Impact - I have been toying with the idea of getting one for ages. Did you get it off Ebay? I put and LS2 on the board a while ago and it is great, really useful for blending clean signal to effects or switching multiple ones on and off. SFX make a very nice version called Loop Logic and it is easier to turn the loops on an off but does not have a mode option on it. Did you keep the Agent 00 Funk?
So here's my board to date, I reckon this is how it's likely going to stay for a while but am now thinking of getting an LS2 or similar (any recommendations/suggestions/feedback from you guys would be appreciated), once I'm definitely happy with it I'm planning on replacing the existing patch leads with George L's and then tidying the underside cabling of the board - I'll probably move the Diago Powerstation back underneath as well - actually that's a point worth mentioning - I previously had (no laughing at the back!) a Soundlab Power Supply and whilst it coped with powering my pedals it was horrifically noisey even at rest!? - the Diago seems infinitely better so am well pleased with that. So the latest addition being the Deep Impact, am I right in thinking you can add an expression pedal to this? Or a footswitch to toggle the sounds? Again, any feedback would be gratefully received. Cheers, Pete
-
Thanks for posting this - I have wanted to learn that line for ages and never quite got around to it. With the video and TAB I had it sussed in about 15 mins! Thanks again!!!

BC meetup @ the London Bass Guitar Show, 03 and 04/03/12
Gunsfreddy2003 replied to Silvia Bluejay's topic in Events
No it was definitely this year. If you look at the news section on their site it was released in December. Bloody glad I didn't make the effort to go down only to find it was not going to happen.
Billyapple, i missed you by a whisker a couple of times this afternoon! Freddy, I remember the website mentioning that masterclass but it disappeared soon after, and doesn't appear in the show literature at all. Are we sure we didn't read last year's lineup, which they left on the website for far too long? I can't remember now.
-

I was going to go but have come down with the man flu this morning. My main interest was the Andrew Levy master class but looking at the timings for today and tomorrow he is not mentioned anywhere. Does anyone know what happened? -
Bought some strings this week to re-string my Stingray 5 and stupidly bought a taperwound low B when my bass is set up for standard strings! This string has been put on and then taken back off 5 mins later when I realised my mistake. Would like to get something close to what I paid for it as it is practically brand new.

I would personally stick with the 3 band on the fretless - more usable there and easier too! I am going to go with the East pre-amp in my Classic 5 and may look at the Nordstrand p/up if I feel that I still need something else adding afterwards. It's funny how different the tone is from the '77 Stingray and the 2011. They are like chalk and cheese.
Yeah currently only my Fretless has an MM4.2 in it, but I used to have one in the first Stingray I had. Personally I find the tone a little bit clearer and defined, and I found it eliminated the "Dead G string" problem that Stingrays seem to suffer from where you can't hear it as opposed to the other strings. What I was thinking of doing is taking the 4.2 out of my Fretless and putting it in my new 89 Fretted, and then buy the MM4.4 for all the coil switching options, and put that in my Fretless with a 2band EQ, but I'm thinking it might be a lot less hassle to just leave it as a 3EQ - I think the mid control might be more of an asset on the Fretless. Nice board - what is the signal chain/pedal list? What connectors are you using , it looks unfeasibly tidy to me!
The latest incarnation: Don't think there's room for any more!
-

Going to go for the East MM pre-amp after talking to John (top man), hoping to get this in the next 7-10 days. If still not satisfied I may look to change the p/up to a Nordstrand as also suggested but think one step at a time is most sensible.
Another +1 for the East kit - honestly, it can change everything about the sound of your bass in a really positive way, or it can just add a tickle of whatever you fancy. My East pre is the single best thing I bought last year - superb.
Hey Higgie, does only one of your Stingray's have a Nordy p/up in it? If so what is the difference in tone like from that compared to the stock Stingray p/ups?

Sign of the times I think! I'd be interested in the DI - send me a PM with what you want for it!
The recession is clearly hitting hard! I was going to sell a boxed, instructioned and PSU'd Deep Impact but judging by people's lack of interest in cool pedals it'd be best to hang on to it! Hey ho - things will improve! Strings Direct - 10% discount code heads up.
Gunsfreddy2003 replied to casapete's topic in General Discussion
Ha ha - I did exactly that too and on Elixir's Strings Direct were cheaper than Stringbusters who I normally use.
When I priced up my order for the same thing from Strings Direct with the 10% discount and then Stringbusters (my usual, too) with no discount, Stringbusters still came out substantially cheaper.
