1. Hi I have a lovely wine red Washburn Status 1000 bass. Its all original (inc a brand new set of Status double ball strings) and has recently been fantastically set up by Mark (7string) at Setups Glasgow; the only thing missing is the case. Condition wise its pretty good, there are the usual knocks in the finish and pitting of the brass hardware but these are superficial, most importantly the bass sings! Used but far from abused would be an apt phrase. The reason for the post is that in light of my band taking a 'possibly' permanent break I really don't need the number of instruments I currently have and I could do with cash for some more studio equipment. So does anyone have an idea of the going rate for these? I've seen prices vary wildly so I was hoping for a rough ball park. I am really only toying with selling at the moment but if I do i'd like to know a reasonable price for this site so I don't drastically over or under-estimate things. Cheers Chris Oh, its the bass in my avatar.
2. For sale, my Ashdown Little Giant LG-1000 head. Mint condition including Box, carry case and rack ears. £190 + PP (although collection from Glasgow preferred). Now SOLD.
3. Hi I am selling my near mint condition Gibson SG Standard 3-SC. A highly versatile guitar with all the looks and feel of a normal SG Standard but a much more varied sound due to the 3 single coils and the 6-way selector switch. Was purchased in 2007 for just over 1k and will accept [s] £800[/s] [s]£750 posted[/s] £660 + PP, prefer collection from Glasgow however (price reduced accordingly for collection). Guitar was strictly limited to 400 with only a handful making it to the UK market so it is a very rare and very collectable piece of Gibson history. It was Guitar of the Week (Week 10, 2007). PM for info. Thanks Chris GUITAR SOLD NOW, THANKS

5.
Absolutpepper has one. Drop him a pm. I think he was thinking of selling it recently so it might still be in the for sale section. Jez
Haha thanks for the plug Jez. I have a black on black one and it's great. I've decided to hold on to it as my GAS for another electric guitar came and went haha. I'd recommend a RAY 35 to anyone who was considering an SR5. Chris
6.
Hello, I was looking at my 2 basses I have a Gibson grabber 1976 g3 and a epiphone thunderbird pro trans black and I want to get rid of my epiphone t bird pro to get the normal one but in white or ebony, so if anyone would like to buy my epiphone or trade for a white t bird or ebony t bird please reply
Try the basses for sale forum if you are looking to sell or swap. Also you'll need to state a for sale price if selling and pictures can help too.
7.
Hi there, I know there are already a few topics already about synth pedals I've recently joined a Function band, and i've been asked to play Plug In Baby, so of course i need a synth pedal quick, id already given some thought before and explored the web to see whats out there, and obviously narrowed the search down to two candidates... i want to know peoples opinions on which is the best one? Boss Synth / EHX Micro-synth? i know they have many similarities in terms of tone and function and are both reliable, but which gives me more control and overall power over a sexy sweet synth bass sound, especially as it needs to sound right for this. Thanks -Tom
Please don't buy the Boss, its terrible and the tracking is aweful. If you are looking for a reasonably inexpensive synth pedal (ie not a Chunk OS or MB SuperSynth) then go with the EH Bass Micro-Synth or maybe even try the Digitech Bass Synth Wah, I know Chris from Muse has used it in the past (around that Origin era).
8. Remember with analog delays the repeats are much darker so depending on the fuzz and the delay models it seems quite possible that the repeat echo's could get lost among the fuzz. Sorry, other than trying a different (perhaps a less high gain fuzz and maybe an analog delay with a longer repeat, up to 600ms or so).
9.
Does anyone know if this would be possible, The likes of the Fender Bass VI is the tone im looking for, but without the price tag of about £10000 if you can find one, I was thinking about One of those Danelectro Dead on 67 Baritones, http://www.dv247.com/guitars/danelectro-de...ey-green--67271 But would i be able to get a Standard E A D G B E tuning out of one if bass strings were put on it... ? Theres a severe lack in 6 string basses tuned to guitar tuning... Someone advise me? thanks very much in advance. -Tom
Looking at the advert there is an error in the scale. There's no way a baritone is 25" and i'm sure from recollection the Dano is 29" or 30". The Bass VI was 30" and it was tuned E - E. If the Dano is 29" or 30", provided you put the correct gauge of strings on it there would be no issue with the E - E tuning and getting a sound 'close' to a bass VI. Its also worth noting there are lots of alternative baritones out but the scale vary wildly (typically bari's are between 26" and 30" and tuned either B - B, A - A or E - E depending on the scale. If you have a bit more cash i'd recommend looking at the Schecter Hellcat as well. Be careful of the lower scale ones designed for heavy rock/metal guitarists as they wont comfortable tune E - E. Chris

11. On second thoughts probably over-estimated. Don't want to appear to be ripping anyone off on the forum. Will hang on to bass for time being. Thanks guys.
12.
I know it's not the done thing to openly talk to one about their own pricing, however since it's a "feeler" ... Ray34s have shown up, and a good one with a nordstand m4.2 in it went for around £380, and the bass alone RRP is around 600. Ray35s RRP at 640 at the least so if I guesstimate it you would be looking at offers of around £400. At the end of the day it comes down to what some one is willing to pay for it. Good luck.
No worries at all, its only a feeler and since these never come up I didnt really know how to price it. For £400 i'd certainly keep it but the point of the post was partly to work out if people were interested and what the 'going rate' might be. Lets call it a guide shall we.
13. Black on Black RAY 35 with Gig Bag. Near mint condition. Previously had it on as a feeler for £500 which was a bit of an over-estimation on my part. Following break up of band i'm not currently gigging so having a bit of a stock clearout! Lets say [s]£400[/s] £390 posted. £380 collection. Would prefer collection from Glasgow but id be willing to post within UK. Bass Sold. Thanks all for interest.
14. Sorry, its pretty big and probably prohibitively expensive
15.
Sorry, blank moment
No worries!
16.
Price?
The price is on the ad, £400. Thanks. Not really looking to sell individually. CP
17. Thread deleted.
18. Hey If anyone is looking for the For Whom... bass sound (and other Cliff lead sounds) then i've found you'll get really close sound with the Crowther Audio Prunes and Custard (new version with the bass switch) which gives a nice fuzz tone with a dial for bringing in modulation (a bit like a flanger crossed with an autowah), a great pedal and highly worth looking into.
19. I remember having a discussion with a Hartke rep on this (don't ask). Apparently they had been in discussions with Chris for a deal on providing tour backline. He said that Chris would bi-amp (not uncommon with the Ric's, presumably using a Rick-O-Sound) and run a bass amp for the low end signal and a guitar amp for the high end signal. Apparently the guitar amp was EQ'd to drop all the bass and the bass amp set completely flat. I'm not sure how much of this would be true but i've often thought it would make a fun little experiment with my trusty 4003.
20. The aftermarket prices of Ray's has fallen in recent times (probably due to the introduction of the excellent Sterling line) and therefore its more than likely that you'd be looking at around half the asking. If you are hoping to get around £1700 it might be best to hold onto the bass a bit and see if the market picks up in a few years.
21. Hi I saw that one on ebay, it looks great and Wal's are just lovely in all versions IMO. I looked into getting one of these a while back and the going rate was around £1100 - £1300 so maybe it was a bit over, however if the bass is great and you enjoy it then I wouldn't worry!
22. I remembered using one a while back, not very synth like at all and also it sucks the bottom end something aweful, even with an eq.
23. I don't know the value but that's one seriously stunning bass. WANT
24.
Tried to search for info on this but so far haven't been able to find any on here. Since my early teens I've had a hankering to get myself something like the Fender Bass VI that Jack Bruce used in Cream but being strictly a finger player I thought it maybe a tad difficult to play with the strings being so close together. Now I'm finding my playing style changing and I have the urge to play chords and other stuff that you can do on a guitar while still playing it as a bass. My question is: can I buy a regular guitar and tune it E - E using Fender Bass VI strings or similar or will the difference in scale length between a guitar and the baritone/bass VI be a huge issue? Alternatively, who makes a baritone that I can tune E - E cheaply enough but playable so I can buy one second hand to see if its for me before putting out a lot of money for one?
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=baritone There, search over.
