1.
hey peeps, what's peoples thoughts on this? I've always wanted a bass vi but alas they are way out of my budget. I'm quite tempted by it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Danelectro-Custom-6-...ents_Guitars_CV
Would rather have this http://www.rondomusic.com/argustoaskbk.html Much more like a VI with the whammy bar. Plus they seem to get a lot of great reviews.
 2. Although it cant be added to the pole, here's my recently acquired bargain Status Washburn S-1000. The pics are crappy 'cus I took them on my mac's icam in the living room (i'm lazy and couldn't be bothered getting out my proper camera). Anyways, its a pretty good example and once my new set of double-ball ends arrive from Rob i'll be putting it in for a much needed setup. Glad to hear you're enjoying the Status too Jez. 3. As per my profile pic.... I've got a 2008 Midnight Blue 4003. Q/C is not an issue on mine, the finish, setup and construction was all top notch. The bass is absolutely stunning but just to echo other people's opinions it ain't for everyone. I think some said earlier that they were marmite basses - that's a pretty accurate description IMHO. Mine has all the ususal design quirks. The neck is huge - like a baseball bat, the body binding digs into my wrist after a while of playing and mine weighs a fecking tonne. Then there's the sound....oooh the sound. It's incredible and much more versatile than people think! In many respects there is a bit left to be desired with the design quirks but I love mine in spite of those things. It really is a bass that makes you work for its love but once you get there it'll be all over you like a sexy beast!
 4. No space on the poll for my Washburn Status Series 1000? Great bass. Great looks...and after a setup, great playability. All for a bargain basement price. Doesnt half weigh a tonne though.
 5.
New Hiscox case from Status is £68 and available from their on line shop if you can't find one anywhere else.
Yeah I know they do one but it fits headed and headless Statii. I'd prefer in the first place to get one for a headless (more portable) but its good to know that failing that there is another option. Cheers CP
 6. Having sold my Eclipse 4 string to Jez over the weekend I managed to pick up a bargain 84 Washburn/Status S1000 in transparent red. Needs a little bit of a setup and the pots cleaned but it's great! I'm a big fan of the S-2 shape and to get the aesthetic for not a lot of cash was fantastic. I really need to find a Washburn or Status H/C for it now...easier said than done I reckon. Pics to follow...
 7. Bump for a great bass. Jez is a great guy to deal with!
 8.
Meaning, something that could replicate the bass micro synth fairly well? And how's the tracking?
I have one. The answer is no. To my ears the filters/synths are the weakest part of the pedal for bass.
 9.
This one? A bit better but it still looks like a 3rd year woodwork project. J.
Oh god. Thats hideous.
 10.
Lovely colour that, reminds me of the Copperhead Stingray 5 that I had breifly.
Fantastic bass. But just to echo some of the others the asking price may be a tad high. The going rate at the mo for a Sterling is between £600-£700. Good luck with the sale though, looks like a cracker.
 11. Jez is a top guy. Popped round and took my Status bass off my hands. Great guy to chat to and have a laugh with. Totally genuine, I couldn't recommend him higher.
 12.
Cheers, was it the Gumtree one by any chance?
SOLD TO JEZZA.
 13.
Bargain!!
Thanks guys.
 14.
great basses these I had one a while ago, lovely sounding dead easy to play and very versatile. If i hadn't just picked up a stonkin deal on an eclipse a month ago i'd have it! free bump on me
Cheers, was it the Gumtree one by any chance?
 15.
bumpage.
Bumparoo
 16.
Chris Would you consider posting this at all? I'm in the deep south. Cheers Ian
Hi Jez. Cheers for that. Go on you know you want to! Also, i'd prefer local pickup however if no one bites over weekend i'll hit you up for some postage. That sound okay???
 17. bumpage.
 18.
Hey Selling my Classic Vibe James Johston (Biffy Clyro) J bass. Its pretty much mint and well looked after. Could do with some strings. £250 collected from Glasgow. Cheers Chris
BUMPAROO FOR PRICE DROP TO £200
 19. Following my current clear out i've decided to put my Squier Classic Vibe James Johnston back up for sale. The bass is mint - although a new set of strings wouldn't hurt - and has been very well looked after. Collection from Glasgow is preferred to negate any postage so let's say £185 collection, or £200 posted within UK - price drop from £200 plus PP - final price drop for quick sale. PM me if you are interested! SOLD SOLD SOLD
 20. Hey Im selling my newly acquired (and great) bass. Its advertised on Glasgow Gumtree HERE and has the info and pics there. I bought it on ebay last month and really do like it but i've seen a Gibson acoustic guitar (i know, i know!) that i'm really trying to afford. Price is £400 but i'll sell it to a BCer for £350. Would really prefer pickup or delivery in Glasgow area but may consider posting at buyer's expense. PM for any info. Cheers Chris
 21. What about a Sterling by Musicman SB14? It has a great range of tones via the active eq and phantom coil plus its got a thinner profile neck which is more like a Jazz bass. Another great alternative would be the Fender Marcus Miller Jazz.
 22. Hi In an effort to fund a lovely Gibson acoustic i've got my eye on I am offering my Gibson SG Standard 3-SC for sale. This was a very limited edition 'Guitar of The Week' in 2007 which is basically an SG Standard which has been finished in honey satin and comes loaded with 3 single coil pickups (a la strat) and a 6 way selector switch. The guitar is extremely versatile and is gorgeous to play. Is in basically brand new condition and has not left my bedroom since it was purchased in 2008. Comes with the official Gibson Hard Case. £650 ono - no swaps im afraid. Would prefer collection in Glasgow (or i'll deliver within reason for cost of petrol), would also consider posting at buyers expense too.
 23.
Just in case anyone's interested - not mine BTW http://brighton.gumtree.com/brighton/42/63567642.html
Nice but too expensive. If it has an original HC (BTW the purple lined hard case is less desirable than the red lined one - this will be a later model i'd think) and is in pretty mint condition go £600 or so for a G-3.
 24. +1 on that Spector, looks lovely and a lot of bass for the money. Also the T-40 idea is a good one, a fantastic bass with a twist on classic design. What about a second hand Warwick Corvette Standard. Maybe that would be a bit out price range though? FWIW The CVs are very nice too. With the current market you'll currently have a lot of choice in the sub £300 price range. Best advice, scout around, play everything you can and try and get a good used deal (on BC of course). Happy hunting. Chris
 25. BUMP for a great bass that I sadly now can't afford and had to let go! Don't let this one pass you by folks.
