I'm sure there's a Smith and Jones skit on that too! Having left it on its tod for another week, i think i'm going to clear coat it. Not sure if you're supposed to sand beforehand...?

Should bands (in name) carry on after large lineup changes?

Well, the alleged 'Sugababes' should have definitely called it a day! -
Spray can from Halfords! Its actually a slight off-white, i think its 'Audi ibis white' or something similar.

A couple of weeks worth of paint drying and it's been t-cutted a bit (more to go) and i'm starting to get it put back together! The pickup did get straightened...! It might need some filling around but we'll see how it goes.
I've just had my car reliced, all my mates are really impressed with the look and how much more cooler I look driving around in it
See, i think that looks cool, but i like rat rods... -
I like now. Now is good.

The 70s sucked. Ok, i was a kid, but i hated it. All the adults smoked, and then beat their kids for being soft by having asthma. You had to sit in the back of a ford cortina because you were a kid, but they didn't have seatbelts and as all the adults drank all the time too, you got bounced around all over the place. Fortunately the cars were so slow you were unlikely to actually die. There were 3 TV channels but at least one was on strike at any one time. And there were probably paedos presenting the programs. 80s? Still a bit crap but improved. Technology was starting to work, people were actually getting the idea that racism and sexism were a bad idea, and the Young Ones was on the telly. The tascam 4 track was invented. 90s? Bit better. No minimum wage, the internet became a thing you could use. A whole bunch of musicians i liked killed themselves. 2000s? War. Without end. Big Brother. Digital TV. Star wars prequels. 2016? Tech is now so cheap you can get a mobile phone for £3.50. Same with clothes as primark exists. There is a permanent space habitat with a UK astronaut who goes on instagram. Planet's pretty knackered though and nobody seems to care. The past is rubbish, why do you think we keep moving away from it? I like the future, if we're lucky it'll have spaceships in...

Changed my mind, sorry! Selling my Digitech BSW as i don't use it! Here's a grainy pic of it on my pedalboard: I don't have the box or the instructions but you can download the PDF of the manual or just twiddle knobs... Its in good nick as its mostly been used in my kitchen - there might be a couple of marks from where i've stuck velcro on it, but i'll also give it a clean!

I wanted to start a Band called 'Manilow Manson', which did Barry Manilow songs in the style of Marilyn Manson. I actually recorded a version of 'Can't smile without you' which sounded slightly terrifying! I think somewhere there's a metal version of 'Mandy' which is pretty epic...

Paint done! It now needs my self control to kick in so i leave it alone while the paint hardens so i can sand and buff.

That's a very cool sound (above!) Here's me mucking about seeing how close i can get: Basically then, its growly distortion into thuddy amp! I used pedals - Joyo British sound set to grr, with eq at a sort of squashed W, then into Joyo california sound, set thuddy but sort of cleanish. And then into a USB mixer and recorded in Audacity, with a bit of room reverb added after.

Bass EQ PEdals - How do you personally use yours?

Before something overdrivery to boost into overdrive but only on the frequencies i want... -
Ew, steinbergers! No - its got some retrotastic chrome hardware that'll be going on but i want to keep the 'rocket' look...

And more! Took the black off the headstock while i was at it. I was planning to paint the face of it white to match the body but actually i quite like the bare wood. We'll see how much paint i have left! Also more filler, more sanding and some undercoat. The last bit i need arrived in the post today - i'm excited, i think its going to look good and hopefully sound good too!

Ok so, paint stripped - sanded, and some filler on the scratches, plus a bit of wood and some filler in the neck pickup hole as the new one is gibson size:

BTW - is your first language German by any chance? I ask because it can seem blunt directly translated to English; so 'obviously' in the way you used it sounds like 'yes, any idiot could have worked that out'. I'm not actually sure what the 'proper' English would be as i for some reason still use slang like 'totally!' for that kind of phrase. I guess, 'so it is' or 'of course!' Would work? I'm also now very intrigued by that sound and have been playing with it. Slightly overdriven and lots of reverb, possibly a bit of chorus is my guess so far? I have a Nux Timecore with modulated delay and a bass with a gibson type humbucker. And a pick...

On my sidebar on that clip was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gU_bJtRwWbM their live show from BBC6 festival. it might be on there? And there might be a pedlaboard shot?

Good idea! I don't want to be buying tools i won't have later use for but that did give me an idea... I don't have a heatgun or a blowtorch but i do have a hob! Thats half of it gone - i can also now see how people do the 'relics' that pop up on 'ebay weird and wonderful'...

Discovered nitromors doesn't work on whatever they've painted the dang thing with! Ah well, back to sanding then!

So, backstory, gear4music flying V bass that i don't like the sound of, decided to give it a makeover: First step, take it to bits, put all the bits somewhere safe: Next step, attack body with sander drill attachment, decide sanding is boring, go to shop to buy nitromors...
